Incidents of Cheating on the Rise?
Is it just me, or does it seem that (once again) the site is going through a period of increased cheating activity? Personally, I've noticed such, especially in GB games in which communication between powers is strikingly obvious.

Thoughts?

I'm watching a show about Kublai Khan and it's interesting, if not, I'm sure, woefully inaccurate. I'll have some time around the holidays and was hoping someone could recommend a good book about Gengis/Kublai/Khan Dynasty.

Start game without all players
Is there a way to have a new game start without all the player slots filled? I have had several games canceled because every slot has not been filled.
Over the upcoming vacation, I would like to start a game, possibly a World Diplomacy variant, for many players, but I can not count on filling every country. Any ideas here?

To all the morons that don't want the keystone pipeline -- please voluntarily pay more at the pump to reduce the unnecessarily high prices I have to pay at the pump because you fuckwads are blocking energy abundance. That is all.

Actually....it's not all. You are not reducing the amount of energy used....I still have to drive to work every fucking day....you are just reducing that amount of money I have to spend on other things -- like food, housing, "luxury" items that provide jobs, etc. Instead, you are transferring my wealth overseas.

So for all of you bitching about there not being enough jobs.....how's that wealth transfer overseas thing working out for you? How's that fewer-jobs-here thing working out for you because there are fewer startups, and less growth in existing companies, because sales are artificially low because energy prices are artificially high?

And yes....before you say it....yes...LOOK at the fucking price of oil exactly BECAUSE of the North Dakota oil industry. It's HALVED the price of a barrel of oil. So just imagine if we opened up yet another supply of domestic oil....

Filling up your tank has gone from $50-$60 ....down to ~$35.....Imagine getting that down to $20 per fill-up, IF we secured are own domestic oil resources.

Are you a waiter or waitress? Cut my hair? I'll probably tip you more.

Are you a worker in a company that has transportation costs? Imagine getting a raise and/or profit sharing because their transportation costs dropped drastically?

DO YOU FUCKING EAT???? Imagine the price of ALL you food dropping (or at least stopping the massive increases we have witnessed over the last 5 years) because it's cheaper to get it to you.

So all you against the fucking pipe-line. FUCK YOU. Please send me your address so I can send you a fucking bill every month to pay for my unnecessarily high energy costs.

2WL -- It isn't "big oil" that benefits from the Keystone. Hell....with the reduction in the price-per-barrel of oil, at best it's probably a fucking WASH in profits.....but they now have a source of profits that is domestic and secure, unlike Mid-East oil.

Your naivety is pathetic.

Why is the price of gas so low?

Krellin, energy should be expensive, especially oil. In my opinion, there should be an environmental tax on all energy sources from fossil fuels. Now go ahead and hate on me.

He will, don't you worry.

The KXL and other further pipeline projects serve only to further detriment the obvious need for cleaner energy development and the fact that the United States government continues to attempt to support it despite widespread public outcry and disapproval within the scientific community shows exactly where their priorities are - wherever the highest paid lobbyists want them to be.

TrPrado - Tell us more about this radical new economic theory you have developed which turns conventional
Macroeconomic theory regarding global supply and demand on its head. I'm particularly interested in why Canadian ownership of the oil would somehow prevent it from contributing to global supply and on the demand side I am curious why it matters which consumers you think will ultimately be purchasing said oil.

These articles talk of how Midwestern gas won't go down. There are a few reasons for this, but has nothing to do with the broader United States . Back to Yal's comment, the price of oil, is completely based on supply and demand and the commodity fluctuates price based on this. Also oil prices and gas prices are two different things entirely.

You do understand, that gasoline is refined from crude OIL. The more oil that hits the broader market and demand is met, drives price down which inevitably brings the price of gas down.

Companies selling refined oil to other countries causes gas prices in this country to go down? Sure, that sounds about right.

Oil has 1 price that's generated through the commodities exchanged based in dollars. Now though different currencies this might have different effects in different countries, but once demand is met and surplus rises, cost inherently goes down.

When an opponent stabs you, and also immediately mutes you in the game.... what the actual fuck?
