Just to be clear: we are looking for a Game Mod, who will not have any Forum responsibilities or powers.

lol abge, I was making a joke about how mods always post "No cheating accusations in the forum" and how people always respond with variations thereof.

Can I ask what game mod responsibilities are? How much time does it take you all? Any special coding skills etc needed?

Oh, well then in that case I might actually throw my name in the ring. I don't think I could be a forum mod but a game mod, maybe so.

No coding needed, but it familiarity with it can help. Responsibilities include taking a spear and wandering through the wilds of the internet, hunting multis. I'm not that active anymore, but I imagine jmo and 2WL easily put in 10 hours a week right now.

JMO/Gold can give a better idea of exactly what they're looking for, but general responsibilities include:

Hunting and Dealing Justice to cheaters
Assisting TDs with Tournaments
Helping new players with site mechanics
Assisting players with bugs
Other miscellaneous site stuff

I suspect a few hours a week would be sufficient (the real admins can confirm this), but in reality there's enough work to spend as much time as you want.

No programming skills needed. Pattern recognition and an ability to act objectively in stressful situations are, though.

I might add that the more mods there are, the less time each spends doing work. Abge laid out a good list of responsibilities though. Really, any time commitment would be helpful. You put as much time into it as you want to. There's always going to be that extra multi lurking in the shadows :)

Is it easier to get away with being a multi as a mod? I've always wanted to see if I could win a game if I was 6 of the 7 players in it, this could be my chance!

Also, what's it pay? Like the McDonald's employees, I'm afraid ill have to insist on $15/hr. If they deserve it for cooking frys, then surely I would deserve it for going throw the effort of enabling my own cheating!

So right now we're really looking for someone who's willing to put in some time. To clarify on goldfingers estimate. I'm on the computer most of the day for work, and I keep the mod email open on my browser. So I end up spending 2-3 minutes on urgent issues a few times a week. Then I spend around 2 hours hunting multi's which is a bit more then we'd expect of any new mod. Following through on the cases takes some time, and I normally do it in 30 minute spurts a few times a week. Probably around 5 hours per week on a regular basis on top of my normal forum watching.

I think the best way to describe the overall workload is like playing in 1 or 2 extra press games.

Like abge and gold mentioned, you put as much time in as you want, and real life always comes first...which is why there is a backlog right now.

The only real technical requirement is being willing to use google chat/talk to communicate with other mods. Trust me, Zultar was able to figure all this out, anyone can.
