Studying the differences in steroid use among gay vs. straight people is certainly something you can do, but what are you accomplishing? Is the goal to demonize gay culture? I don't necessarily disagree with the article, but what's the point?

This seems pretty straightforward. Gay and bi men are still men, and therefore pretty shallow. So a man seeking another man as a partner has to rely more strongly on his physical appearance than a man seeking a woman, because men place a higher premium on looks than women do, generally. Getting that fit Adonis appearance is really hard work, and steroids are a temptation to make it easier. So we should expect steroid use to be higher in those groups.
