p.s. I'm again recommending you to put some small amount of points into all current 0 pot games so people that play them would try harder :-)

I am honestly new, and i have joined non-password game. However, I am interested in joining a password game if someone is willing to trust new guy.

what happens if a games gets to two players, each with 16 SC (all 32 evenyl distributed) and they refuse to move against each other? does it just keep going on forever? With the objective being "DIPLOMACY" and the move to a point based system, why does each game have to end with a single victor?

Kestas, i don't have a computer at home and the library was closed for labor day so i missed a turn. can you put an army in STP? (i'm russia and the game is "New Game!!!!").

Here was the situation. I was involved in a game where the infamous sydney was playing. During the course of the game, kestas banned him and his other accounts. However, this did not immediately move his countries into civil disorder so I, along with the rest of the table, knew with absolute certainty that his units would not be moving for a turn or two.

One of the other players in the game wrote a post to kestas during the middle of one of these turns requesting an immediate CD for the country. With just a few hours remaining in the turn, Kestas complied and another player took over the country. With the ability to take over CD countries normally in place, I would never just assume the countries units were not moving but the player in question was not actually in CD until most of the way through the turn.

The player who requested the CD and the player who took over the CD immediately allied and drove me back. While I'm sure that part of my griping is just sour grapes. I find it unfair that for the players who logged into said game near the end of the turn would find an active player whereas the rest of us submitted moves based upon the fact that said units should have in no way been able to move.

I believe one of two things would have been extremely helpful in this situation. First off, Kestas please do not manually move a player to CD in the middle of a phase. I don't think you need to wait until they would CD automatically, but at least set it for the end of the current phase so that all players are on equal footing.

The second, and more widely applicable, suggestion is to have a Gamemaster notification message similar to the "You have been defeated" or "You win the game" messages that are sent to players on the forum page. These messages would be created any time a CD country is taken over in a game the person is in.

Hey, I forget: do mutual support hold orders work in phpdip?

So I am not currently playing in any games, yet my pot is below 100 (81 to be exact). I thought Kestas had put something in which would restore a player to 100 if they fell below the threshhold.

I login and see that their is a message in my game by the envelop icon being display in the link to the game.

I open the game and there are no countries marked with a message. I have to browse all the countries to find the message.

Is this a known problem?

When is the game going to play like "REAL" Diplomacy. Meaning not breaking your own supports, displacing your own forces, supporting convoys, seeing all orders, and most importian DRAWS! In live games only 10-20% of the game are solo's! If these problems were corrected this would be the best site.

Can the game communication listing be stored so tha the newest on is at the top so you don't have to scroll down to see it?

Hello. Quick question about a chain of support. I am moving a unit from Denmark to Kiel. I have support in the Heligoland Blight for the attack, and that much is fine. Here is where I am unclear. I also have a fleet in the North Sea and would like to support the fleet in Heligoland as it supports the move into Kiel. Do I select "support move" or "support hold"? Or can I not use this unit as part of the chain of support for Kiel?

Is there a way to see a list of all the moves made on a turn?

Is there any way I can support a convoyed army? I tried and it wouldn't give me the option to do that.

Just wondering, how do I view private games?

Had a look in the FAQ but couldn't find an answer?

Also - how are points allocated at the end of the game? I know the more units you have the more points, but would be great if someone could provide a bit more detail. Cheers.

Hey. Just finished first game (won by fastspawn of germany, I came in "second" with austria") on php diplomacy, and i played once in school. Love the game, I have a bit of a knack for it (two second place finishes in first two starts, plus I'm a history buff), but I'm a bit confused. How does the rating system here work? And what's with all the numbers followed by a D next to names? Are those points? And if so, how are they earned, because I've only played here once and I already have like 200+.

Love it here, and looking for a new game. Anyone want to go/ invite? :)

I know that someonw has already asked why this happenes, but is anyone going to fix this anytime soon?

Just created Born in the USSR 2 - The pot is 200/player.

If one unit is ordered to support hold of the other one, does that other one have to be ordered to hold in order to receive the support? or it can be ordered anything as long as it stays in place?

Games I am eliminated still show up in my active game list. Sure, I appreciate the possibility to send private messages in these games, but I would rather have them pushed to finished games. Is it hard to recode?

Kestas - take a look at this game please. I've run gamemaster.php several times and it's still stuck at the end of phase. Not sure if this problem is widespread or just this one game.
