**Preliminary report from our mission**

We've successfully boarded the ship. I think Loom is responsible for taking down Branimir. He is speaking to us in our minds. He says he fried the ship's computer because the things (zombies?) on the ship scared him. We'll discuss the next steps and proceed with caution
How did Loom know that there were zombies on the ship? Is he on the ship? If so, how did he get there?

Flicke said that death triggers the disease.

Medic Haemod:
I am stunned. Words cannot describe what ive seen. I will carry on the work of Tierney and Bratislava if you permit.

The deceased are burned and their bodies are not at risk for reeanimation. I believe fire destroys the pathogen. And when the zombies explode, a death by blast does not incur reeanimation.

Thats what tissue sample 3 appears to indicate. Im working out of my quarters at this point.

Permission to compare notes with Uriah and borrow Chagall?

Can you ask him how he got on the ship? Last I heard, he was at the North Pole refusing to help.

Greetings, fellow travelers. And the blessings of the Almighty Lordfather be upon each of you, and all those you pray for in these troubled times. I am Naia, Priestess of the Faith.

Under normal circumstances, I would ask you to inform me of what had come to pass, that you find yourselves stranded here in this inhospitable marshland. And yet, it is as if I have already perceived from afar - whether in a dream granted to me by the Almighty Lordfather, or perhaps through some deeper spacio-temporal connection that I am yet to understand, I know not - your movements, actions and, indeed, some of your thoughts. While there may be gaps or misapprehensions in my understanding of this colony's position, I do not believe myself to be wholly a stranger. Indeed, it is as if I am returning home, after a long journey - as though this is not my first time among you. It is as if I have been sent... back? Yes. I return to you now, at the turn of the tide...

I must first express my gratitude for your having aided me in this, my time of need. The horrors that I witnessed aboard Branimir will not readily be forgotten, but perhaps now that I have joined this colony they may begin to be healed.

I alone was chosen from among my sect by his Holiness Archbishop Melliton Oakes of the Archdiocese of Thyateira, on behalf of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople, to travel aboard the Battleship as chaplain to those on board. All such journeys require a Priest or Priestess of the Faith, as a travelling companion, with responsibility for the cure of all souls on board. In this day and age of "enlightenment", though, it will hardly surprise you to know that there were none who felt the need of my services - though I sense there were some who should have greatly benefited from a time of confession...

In practice, therefore, I know little of what went on during my days on the ship. I spent my time in solitude, seeking the will of the Almighty Lordfather and asking that He bestow His blessings upon the ship and all who travelled in her. It would seem, though, that he had other plans.

Some time ago now - I am not partial to grasping time in the linear fashion in which most chose to perceive it - Battleship Branimir suffered sudden shutdown of life support. People began to run out of oxygen. I myself was spared because I have become accustomed to meditating in order to reduce my heart rate and need for such sustenance.

Then, it began to get weirder. Those who had died in the initial shutdown began to rise up. And explode. This, I am given to understand, you have now tragically experienced firsthand, so I need not give details. Needless to say, a number of us - including our ship's economist Velan - chose to escape the ship while it was still possible.

All I now know of what remains of the ship is the following: some 62 survivors opted to remain on the battleship. The zombies, and their final detonations, have destroyed most of the ship's systems - 4 of 5 systems are down. To kill off the pathogen, which appears to be some sort of new virus, the dead must be burnt as quickly as possible after death. If this is not achieved, they will rise up 1-3 phases later and rushdetonate themselves, potentially harming both systems and people.

Finally, I perceive that the cause of this original shutdown is something called a Loom-wisp? This last part I am not certain of and would value the interpretation of other councillors as to what a Loom-wisp might be?

For now, though, I must excuse myself and spend some time in careful meditation in my chambers. I will pray for this colony and do what I can in my own way to stem the corruption that I sense has already begun to seep into each and every one of us...

##Phase action - pray to reduce corruption

Flicke... You are our Operating System?

I would be keen to know what problem you believe to have been solved by my information at this juncture. The problem of corruption? That I can keep at bay, though that is hardly a solution - more a temporary respite...

After morning second tea, I find Haemod. Something about what he discovered in his Most Excellent examination of the corpses has triggered a memory. (Along with some 'memories' that my ole pal Skirk had left for me in my closet...) I knew a guy once... who had thought he was onto something to help cure stupidity. It had something to do with DNA restructuring. But his efforts so far had been unsuccessful. He had come up with the idea when playing that ancient computer game, "Lemmings." The part where you could click on a lemming and a count down started... and they exploded. Exposively Exploded. In an Exploding kind of way.

My old classmate's name was... something something Nobel....

Anyway... maybe Haemod and I can figure this exploding corpse thing.

And fix it.

Flicke said that death triggers the disease.
As far as I can tell, our mechanic is quite correct in his assertion - death triggers the pathogen's release, which zombifies the corpse, causing it to be resurrected and then to spontaneously explode. Not only am I in abhorrence of any who would mete out execution and death - over which none but the Almighty Lordfather has power - but to execute these patients would be to actively cause further explosions.

##Vote Nay Proposal 5.1.0

Let us instead assume that all of us are corrupted and therefore seek to make it so that none of us dies until our geneticist and remaining medics are able to work on a cure for the pathogen. Or at the very least, a suppression technique, so that it is not released on death.

I would imagine that some secret may lie within the corporeal fabric of the one patient who seemed to be able to regenerate his tissue - I forget his name, but names mean so little. What is, after all, in a name?

In the meantime, perhaps it would make sense to quarantine any who are close to death (and therefore most liable to spontaneously explode) away from our systems and people, so that if any do explode the damage is minimised? I suppose this depends on the ability of our geneticist to use the remains of those poor, exploded bodies for his research, as opposed to using live patients?

##Proposal 5.1.1 Quarantine all injured patients, and those close to death, away from vital systems and people, in order to minimise the damage should any of them die and release the pathogen.
##Vote Yea Proposal 5.1.1
