I’ll scratch question 5 (Deity, nymph, or anime character) as it was most likely asked without seeing that the subject is a real human. Which brings us to 18 questions.

In summary:

A real human woman, born between 1500 and 15 August 1769 in France.
Primarily associated with the arts.
Not a painter or author, nor famous as the subject of an artwork.

In summary:

A real human woman, born between 1500 and 15 August 1769 in France.
Primarily associated with the arts, yet not a singer, nor a painter, nor an author, nor famous as the subject of an artwork.

Not Catherine de Medici

I'm thinking it must be either a musician, or someone famous as a patron of the arts rather than an artist in their own right.

I am going to gamble on the former and have a free guess:

Élisabeth Jacquet de La Guerre

One of the few female composers, of that era at least, to have a considerable amount of public fame for her work during her own lifetime.

I can give a hint either now or after the 20th question. I will say, while it is tough based on the info given, it's not someone completely obscure.
