Sadly I both agree.
And townread him for it.
The post that gives me pause is where he hesitated in public.

It looks like I have some catching up to do.
Are the mice declaring or something? Why would that be happening....

Just a point of order:ButterscotchReader wrote: ↑Thu May 08, 2025 12:35 amI don't ENTIRELY agree with that as a blanket statement, but yes, in a game where roles give zero alignment information, hiding your role from the wolfpack (t least at the BEGINNING) is more important than usual. Witches will know which roles are village aligned and it allows them to plan optimally, but doesn't clear you to fellow villagers. We can't even accept what you said as factual when you die unless you die at night--which PROBABLY but not DEFINITELY means you a villager or unless a village aligned Gravedigger gets your reveal.miminena wrote: ↑Thu May 08, 2025 12:23 amtwo things:ButterscotchReader wrote: ↑Thu May 08, 2025 12:00 am
She thought my interaction with Will was weird, and it was, but not because we're a pairing, but there's no way for her to know that. She questioned about the statement that players in this particular build will need to be willing to lie. She seems to be coming from a place of--I guess the term would be "open awareness" like she's paying very fine tuned attention to the thread but letting the thread talk to her instead of her putting her voice into the thread. It feels like she's looking for people to trust and mistrust.
1. i haven't really paid much attention to the thread yet outside of that one interaction with will
2. i still don't get why lying is necessary here? you seem to get it so pls explain
It's a great game build for finding witches by trying to manipulate vs "solve by power and follow the information roles" but the rate at which information gets out is important. There is no angel, for example, until a village player dies. Once we know definitively that has happened, we can play a bit more openly.

Bunny advocating for a massclaim on D1?BunnyGo wrote: ↑Thu May 08, 2025 12:41 amWould you support a massclaim? Then everyone’s roles are out in the open and we can just play mafia and the sniper becomes a vig (which is good if they’re town).ButterscotchReader wrote: ↑Thu May 08, 2025 12:35 amI don't ENTIRELY agree with that as a blanket statement, but yes, in a game where roles give zero alignment information, hiding your role from the wolfpack (t least at the BEGINNING) is more important than usual. The mice already know each other. And odds are at least one is scum so the whole scum team knows.
If scum is apprentice, they know another that way and can even try to get their choice killed quickly to take the power from town.
If they have a different investigative role, they’ll learn more roles that way.
