Not Cilla Black either.
The only person you're truly competing against, Wesley, is yourself.

I've got one more good idea, but no more free guesses, so I'll ask it as as conditional question, so if I'm wrong at least I will help the rest of you.
More famous as a non-British artist?
If yes: Olivia Newton-John.

Your gamble pays off.
Olivia Newton-John is the correct answer.

Awesome!
Usually I'm not a fan of too many "born before ..." or "born after ..." questions as I think we waste too many questions getting too precise a period. But in this case, the date of birth was very helpful. If we had gone into the 50's there were so many more singers that came out of the punk / new wave movement, but from the 40's there were only so many that were famous and dead.
Now thinking of a good subject for the next game.

Re: Twenty Questions: Game 271
I think the date of birth questions are extremely important... what would you suggest in place of these when we've already figured out the place of birth, claim to fame, gender, species, and status of mortality?
Re: Twenty Questions: Game 271
Most games we know practically nothing about the claim to fame. But we know they were born in April 1918. I'm exaggerating to make a point, but ...
