It’s not a hurdler. This has been a hard game. We haven’t had one go unguessed in a long time. I think it’s time you guys took one on the chin and went down.

I'm stumped.

Re: Twenty Questions - Game 168
There is still one more question. Try to find out more about what kind of business this guy was in. And use your free guesses. I'll go "warmer" and "colder" to try to steer you in the right direction.

That's the 20 Questions done. Per the Rules, there are no more free guesses. Five more guesses are allowed.

Re: Twenty Questions - Game 168
OBJECTION: How is it the wrong sport?
We established the person could be "a racer". Kevin Harvick is or was a racing driver.
Or was that a hidden hint that it's definitely and ex-boxer?
The only person you're truly competing against, Wesley, is yourself.
Re: Twenty Questions - Game 168
Kevin Harvick is also alive, and he was born later than 1975.
I think "wrong sport" was a hint, though. Also "Take it on the chin" is definitely a hint that he's a boxer though.
I'm still stumped though. I am wondering if this person is some sort of criminal, but I'm not sure if I want to ask that.

Oh yes I know Kevin Harvick was the wrong answer - I'm just puzzled by the "wrong sport" comment...Hominidae wrote: ↑Thu Jan 11, 2024 4:12 pmKevin Harvick is also alive, and he was born later than 1975.

I assume we are looking for a businessman who wasn't very good at boxing (but had at least one fight as a pro).

Re: Twenty Questions - Game 168
Vincent Gigante was white, he was born and died in America within the correct date range. He started out as a professional boxer but with no particular success, and later became much more well-known as an influential member, and eventually head of, the Genovese crime family in New York City (or, to put it another way, he was a legitimate businessman).

Re: Twenty Questions - Game 168
WOW! I didn't think you'd get that!
Vincent "the Chin" Gigante was a professional boxer who later became the head of the Genovese crime family in New York. Congratulations Jamiet99uk!
Hominidae: me saying "wrong sport" was not a criticism of your answer. A race car driver was within the scope of people it could have been. It was intended as a hint to get all the guessers off race car driving.
The hint "take it on the chin and go down" was intended to hint both boxing and Vincent's nickname.
Damn, I was hoping to finally foil you guys!

Nice one.
That was a challenge.
My Question 20 was going to be "did this person have a criminal record or was he ever accused of any serious crimes?" but someone got to Question 20 before me.

Re: Twenty Questions - Game 168
Well done. I spent a very long time scouring the Internet and I couldn't come up with Vincent Gigante.
