A famous southerner who isn't military, sportsman, KKK (criminal) or entertainer, and was never portrayed in film?

What civil rights' activists haven't been portrayed in film? MLK was. Loving was. Rosa Parks was.

Ah no, crap, I was about to suggest it could be Colonel Sanders, but a film was made about him, so he's out.

Well, a romantic film featuring a very forced interpretation of him, but still.

Also not a politician – meant to mention that.

Hmm, I'm not sure and maybe totally wrong, but there is something on my radar the whole time and I'm not sure if that fit ... but Texas and the region is still considered Southern US and the stuff, right, so maybe, maybe it was some sort of Cowboy or Texas Ranger, or someone from the wild west, but at this point, I'm not sure if we should ask that, since many persons were included in western and stuff so I don't ask officially and just throw it into the brainstorming bucket.

Unlikely since most famous 'wild west' types were criminals

There is an eponymous movie with Kev Costner.
