I don't care who passes the law.

Your country doesn't have a law protecting the right to abortion.

It should.

It doesn't.

That's your country's fault.
No one argued against this Jamie.

Just, some simple USA knowledge for you: SCOTUS doesn't pass laws.

Some simple knowledge for me:

Has abortion been suddenly rendered unlawful for tens of thousands of women in the USA, or not?

If the answer to that question is "yes", which is being reported worldwide, my follow-up question is:

WHAT IS YOUR SHITHOLE SOCIETY FUCKING DOING ABOUT IT???

Except your Supreme Court recently literally ruled that there was no "constitutional right" to abortion.

The constitution has been amended many, many times, so there's a fucking solution if your fucked up nation actually wanted it. Amendment number XX, right to abortion. Solved.

By SCOTUS? By the literal definition of their ruling, they didn't take any rights away from any woman.

By certain state laws in effect now? Yes. Several states now have laws in effect to bar abortions.

SCOTUS actually fixed the original mistake, as what flash already described to you.

Did you read and understand that? You'd have less questions if you did.

They have removed the main nation-wide protection for the right of abortion.

Thousands of women will suffer as a result

If you think that's fixed anything, I don't know what the fuck is wrong with you.

What is being done to actually fix things? What are you doing? How long will it take? How many women will suffer and die in the meantime?

Flum has shown how much of a fucking asshole he is for a long time. He enjoys upsetting people because he's a fucking sociopath or something. I'd take a look under his patio at some point if I was his local police force.

Worcej, you used to strike me as a good guy. We used to get on. We co-GM'ed together. I'm sorry, but you don't strike me as such a nice person anymore. I think your gun love has turned you sour.
I've always been a right-leaning independent, which in terms of the whole spectrum puts a vast ocean between us in regards to political opinions.

My political opinion should not influence you to think less of me simply because we disagree on guns and I am not as angry/passionate as you're displaying in this forum.

I think we can overstate the importance of this decision. This doesn't ban abortion in any way shape or form. All it does is not stop states from banning abortion.
Ok so here I am reading this.

Fuck the states. They should be stopped from banning abortion. Abortion is healthcare. Abortion is a human right.

If you constitution does not guarantee basic health care, if your constitution does not support the human rights of women, then you know what? FUCK YOUR CONSTITUTION until it is amended to provide for these basic protections.

What a fucking fucked-up country where a few hundred members of some local hat-weavers guild can vote to ban human rights for tens of thousands of people.

Fuck that system.

Hopefully Democrats take the opportunity to push forward with legislation to enact a federal law like your country did.

What are you doing?
Engaging in political discourse in a non-spiteful manner and understanding that this topic is important to many people and there is a lot of passion regarding people's opinions.

How long will it take?
I don't know, we've lost 50 years of time to come to a political resolution on this issue.

How many women will suffer and die in the meantime?
I mean, probably less than the amount of people who are suffering due to the economic turmoil in the USA or even the war in Ukraine or even due to COVID in Africa. This seems like a red-herring question to drive guilt more than dialogue.

I don't think you understand how negative Roe was in terms of actually resolving the issue in terms of public opinion. Unlike your country, and many others in the world, the ability for the public to settle the discussion was removed too early in the process and has been in this weird void of interpretation since Roe (cannot ban abortion) and Casey (cannot create 'unnecessary burden') were ruled upon.

This is also an interesting take in a way.

You say fuck the states? State government is actually the most representative of a cultural group and would be the best representation of a geographical areas opinion on an issue. This is why the 10th Amendment exists honestly. On topic: Unfortunately, the states banning abortions are pretty consistent in regards to the public voting those lawmakers in and supporting them and continuing to embrace that policy. The majority is getting what they want in this regard, which is what democracy is all about.

However, Jamie thinks these are evil and should go fuck themselves. He thinks these people need to behave how Jamie thinks they should. They need to be brought up to his standards.

Jamie is tyranny. QED.

A lot of time has passed, and the original pilgrims were fucking lunatics, let's be honest.

We made abortion a legal right in the 1960s.

So let's be clear:

1. If the majority of voters in Texas voted to ban homosexual sex, would that be okay?

2. If the majority of voters in Utah voted to round up the Jews and place them in a concentration camp, would that be fine?

3. If the majority of voters in New York voted to completely ban personal handgun ownership, would you find that acceptable?

4. If the majority of people in Florida voted to reintroduce negro slavery, would that be alright?
