Sabi talks alot, but is trying really hard to prove to a certain group of players that they can be just like them. Its barely working. It is just laden with enough effort that sabi is town.

I’m not sure how you reached an alignment view of Sabi based on that reasoning. It implies that you think Sabi would not put effort in as scum, which seems odd to me. I barely know Sabi and can already tell they are a try-hard and would put effort in either way - at least until they get frustrated or bored which is unlikely to happen D1.

I think sabi is oozing effort to impress certain people. but there is also style and purpose to some of their questions.

Ouch I am a try hard? That kinda hurt. I am just trying to enjoy the game in my own way. I rather ask a lot of questions to get some sort of feel of the game than just shit post. Could you explain who I am trying to try hard for? A good majority of the people in this game hate long posts.

I'm regards to effort: To be fair last game day 3 & 4 I was busy with Thanksgiving family obligations and my high energy/effort was brought down to zero due to it. So baring any family obligations my energy will remain the same.

I dont think trying hard is scummy. In fact I find that when scum try hard it tends to be alot more foul smelling.

for instance when a person wants to play scum as being high volume and disruptive theyll ask alot of NAI questions and delve deep into stuff unrelated to the game. Some scum will even flood the game thread with excerpts from old man and the sea when things start falling apart.

sabi is worth keeping an eye on to see if the posts never reach any conclusions or if they dig too far into conversative drivel. so far theyve been aggressive rather than pedestrian

Unfortunately, this can be true. Unfortunately, I think it doesn't actually tell us anything about Ghug's alignment and anything he might have elicited from Eden is going to be swamped by speculation about whether town-Eden or scum-Eden is more likely to sub out.

I think it’s certainly NAI for ghug, but I think PE was quite towny all through the day. People jumping on him for his post about writing posts and then not posting being scummy, I think just don’t realize this is totally the strange way that PE talks in these games. A lot of his posts come across as forced (like his post with “tips” for Sabi) but it’s just genuinely how he types and thinks imo.

I agree with Tom here. And I also like this new Sabi way of playing.

Sorry. Tryhard has a more negative connotation than I intended. While I think some questions you ask are pointless, I think in general having folks drive discussion is good.

My point was your enthusiasm for playing I think is unrelated to alignment, whereas brain said your effort seemed towny and I disagreed.

You need to map everyone's connection to everyone else until you identify the two sets of people who are connected to each other (including being connected by how assiduously they they try to remain disconnected

Yes, but Damo is the worst because he's not actually doing anything but assigning percentage values to his feelings. When Damo says "there's an 62.9485 percent chance that blah blah blah," there's nothing behind that besides what he feels.

Scum don't want town to be able to draw connections between them. So they give weak reads or bus or lightly defend each other or whatever. But their goal is that if one of their teammate flips, that no one should be able to look back and say "wow, known-scumbo and still-alive-player had something going on!"

As I have said before, you should look for scum in people who don't look scummy.

Asking people to navel-gaze about their inner workings isn't going to tell you much in a game

It does make it easier for me to read them because I get a feel if they are shit poster or a serious player. I rather not waste my energy trying to get a known shit poster to be serious with me. Like I learned that brain bomb pr hunts both as town and scum.

The problem with this is that when I tell you that I'm a Taurus who loves walks on the beach and primarily scum hunts through reaction tests, even if that is all true and I'm town, you're more likely to end up in situations where you're pointing an accusing finger exclaiming, "A real Taurus would not have bottled up their feelings like that! And if you love beaches so much, why didn't you want to go for a walk by the lake last night??? And isn't it interesting that you only reaction tested X and Y, but not Q or J??? AH HA!!!!!111oneone!!!"

also please dont mistake my read on you for being habitual. I have often townread you in the past; I dont get the usual vibe of tenacity from you so far. Usually someone says something really stupid or puts out some horrible plan for how to play day one like massclaims or no kill and youre the first to repudiate it. often a bad read you are first to repudiate as well.

I can attribute it to that you are still feeling the game out as well.
