I tried lurking one game and that didn't work.
I tried pushing a case and getting into a fight one game and everyone saw through me.
My best scum game was when I bussed the crap out of my teammates cause then I could make genuine cases. Still only made it to day 3 I think before I was caught.
So I'm not sure meta is gonna help here cause I'm still actively trying to figure out how to make it. Realistically I think my best bet as scum is to distance myself/bus/create noise and chaos to give other scum a chance to go deeper

- I doubt Squigs is scum, and we also should not "kill for info"

I think this is a reasonable possibility, although you could still be mafia with them. Or Squigs could be scum with them if they decide N1 to have Squigs come out bussing snowy.

Spoiler for my oncoming evening lectures: why is it more scummy to be blatantly and obviously dodging all questions instead of doing so while hiding this fact? Has it occurred to anyone that scum players do not, in fact, want to be obviously scummy?

I wouldn't really say. Most of the people who went after me I'm moderately to very confident are town (Jamiet / worgorygel) and I mostly town read celaph so that just leaves bona who I'm still torn on [side note: stop saying stupid shit like "oh bona flip would give us so much info" if you think he's scum kill him and leave him if not]

I was actually more eyeing the people who were consciously avoiding scum reading me (more spoilers: ghug, though there were other names whose posts I recall but can't connect the name [yourself?]), because A) scum players know I'm town and so instead of being like "fuck snowy he scum" they have to wonder wtf is Snowy doing and the first instinct to the unknown is caution, especially as anyone who's played with me before knows I'll fuck them up if they slip even slightly sideways

But more on this later, all will be answered by this evening p sure

No. Having done similar in the past, I imagine he resolved on this strategy after last game before knowing his role for this one. As town, it lets him play longer and helps him read people. As scum, it gives him reason to be alive late. I had been leaning town because he seemed authentic, but the lurking is beginning to smell.
