It was a hail mary to get killed, or maybe get some reactions. And I was bored. Sadly the only good reactions came from the clears, and they didn't kill me.

It's the sort of thing that I probably wouldn't do as scum but that I'd never expect to get me towncred because it would be so easy to do as scum.

Here's my thoughts on what happened in scum chat:

Bozo and Tom before they died:

Town is tearing themselves apart doubting all these claims. Let's leave them to fight and doubt, it's our greatest weapon this game.

Eventually we need to kill town clears, because that doesn't help town.

We also need to kill where worcej can't block us again.


Then they died. So they didn't get to update the details. *worcej* and *chaqa* and *I* specifically were probably fingered in these scum chats as doubtable claims to be left alone.

Now, why TFB wasn't killed, I don't know.

I don't think it's particularly clever or manipulative to say "thank you for clearing me". I think it's a sign what they're thinking about. They were thinking about "being clear" and not thinking about "solving".

Why do you think this is a towny reaction from them?

I just think you've got competing narratives going on. One the one hand, Sabi is too clueless to understand how mechanical clears work. On the other, they're so clever that they can make up a genuine-sounding reaction faked to suggest they believe ghug is actually the cop with a inno on them.

If you want to scumread them because they're not solving then I disagree with that for several reasons - it's a pretty lazy accusation when 1) they're new; 2) not everyone puts the same effort into solving; 3) how much solving are Rivera/worcej/you doing? - then I disagree, but whatever. Trying to tie their alignment to Durga's NK doesn't make any sense to me and it makes a million times more sense that someone is setting up new players and/or the "clears" for suspicion.

Also, being concerned about "being clear" isn't scummy. Obviously townies don't want to be scumread. But if you think they're so concerned with being clear, then why didn't scum!Sabi kill off doc!worcej who's been scumreading them all game?

This analysis has made me extremely less suspicious of Kgray. Her voting record looks really good. Not out of PoE yet, but close.

I also still like Doom to be town.

I think my new group I want to look in looks something like this:

Tier 1 (flip first): ghug, Sabi, Snowy
Tier 2 (flip maybe): Vecna, RDR
Tier 3 (emergency flips): Kgray, Eden, Doom

Adding in Day 3. It was a hammer day, but I think in that spot scum will try to hop on the hammer to get a modicum of towncred. So I think we should vote out Snowy or Sabi over ghug today.

I mostly agree with your analysis, though I think Doom's point that scum would've bussed bozo over Tom makes a lot of sense. Better to not risk Tom dying when bozo was sure to be killed soon because of the CC. I think the people who voted Tom in the end look the best (self-serving, I know).

And I also don't love ghug trying to get TFB going, but at the time I was up for a TFB wagon also. I don't like his move back to worcej either, but I think maybe we covered it? I don't think I liked his explanation but if he were scum I think he'd vote bozo and prevent Tom from being killed. And honestly I don't see why scum!ghug walks back his townread of me based on my D2 votes when for the most part, people weren't giving me credit for that.

I think snowy is the best of your Tier 1 group by far.

So a crumb is a reference to breadcrumbs in Hansel and Gretel aka a trail of clues you can follow back to find your conclusion.

In mafia this is used almost exclusively in reference to hinting at your power role, like for example Bunny saying he's the miller because the first letters of his first 6 sentences spell out M-I-L-L-E-R
