So what was so important about that exchange? I already knew who they meant by "Bofa" as they've used that nickname before. It reminds me of the nicknames Chaqa, Bozo, Bo_Sox, Worcej and Yoyoyozo used to call each other in college.

But they wouldn't want Chaqa to claim to scan obvtown, that'd be a waste for the real cop so it gives doubt to Chaqa's claim.

If they let him reveal someone who is scumread, it either gives a "clear" (if that person is town) or sets up that scumbo as confscum if Chaqa is ever outed. They're not going to have him scan their own teammate and come up with a guilty, and they probably don't frame a townie also because that makes it more likely Chaqa gets caught.

And if they do "let him scan" it implies they're not worried about him getting results, which I don't think Mafia would be unconcerned with so that also casts doubt on Chaqa's claim. For all worcej says about the doc being the most important role, I think Mafia are more afraid of the cop.

Of course, I also don't see much reason for mafia to make this play and trade 2-for-1.

If your plan is to go into a CC showdown with the actual cop, eliminating someone who is firmly against your guy is a smart play. That was the cornerstone of my analysis with the additional spice that maybe Bona is the actual cop, because of how certain he was against bozo.

So that's what made him a potential target, so then I looked at others and saw I had Vecna and kgray too, who I thought the scum would think I would target, so I decided to risk it and prioritize on Bona, who was kinda scum read but also firmly anti-bozo.

I think if I were in mafia's shoes I'd just roleblock you and kill me. Yeah, it would resolve the question of if I'm mafia or Cop, but I think mafia has probably given up on that one anyway, so they could have killed me tonight and you tomorrow and taken out 2 PRs for 1 Bozo with a few obvious nightkills lined up afterward.

Unless mafia is counting on having to get me or you or miskilled during the day in order to win, which would probably mean there's some deep cover scum.

Yeah, this. WIFOM and all that, but with this strategy, we have to kill the two doctors claimants, and cop goes out. It's forward progress, and if you force town to kill the doctor claimaints, you keep roleblocking the real one if they're alive, and killing someone else. It gives you great tempo to keep removing townies.

If WorceJ is real doc and doesn't save Bona, what's the advantage to Mafia? Try to force us to kill one of the doc claimants, and remove bona, who wasn't too much on town's chopping block, but also probably wouldn't get hit by a doc save?

Going after Bona makes perfect sense when you consider that even if you RB worcej and shoot Chaqa you could get owned by the JOAT

They tried to avoid the WIFOM battle over whether Chaqa or worcej would get saved because there is still a JOAT out there who could help town win it. So they decided to shoot someone that wouldn’t get voted off but wasn’t on anyone’s radar for the nightkill, RB Chaqa to avoid giving away info. And then they lost anyway because worcej is a beast

I agree that if I was scum and were facing this situation, that an RB of the doctor, the exposed scum also claiming RB, and a kill of the possible cop is the optimum play to make.
