The body count in the room is starting to accumulate. The smell in the room is absolutely abhorrent. It is rather unsurprising that most participants still surviving have become completely frantic. Frantic bordering on rabid. Abuse and profanity is constantly slung around the room. No one is spared from the abundant accusations.

The speaker crackles with sound, and everyone prepares for more injury being added to the barrage of insults.

“My dear detectives. Wonderful participants……”

“Let me pose you all…..a question. Two days in a row now, you have failed to identify one of the three murderers amongst you. Note that there were only 14 individuals in this room at the start of this……thing. Three murderers amongst 14 people. And you have failed to find even a single one till thus far.”

“So how do you justify receiving a salary for attempting to track down criminals in massive metropoles? If you cannot even find any of the murderers in this simplified setting, how can you ever be expected to find one on the streets of the cities you hail from? Cities whose inhabitants number in the millions?”

“It really makes me understand now why your superiors thought you needed this…..refresher course”.

“Now, let us see if you finally managed to identify one of these killers on your third attempt”.

“Today you selected dear Brigadier Brian to be exposed to their core. And exposed they will be…..”

Brian falls to the ground and a hole in the ground opens up near him. He is promptly swarmed by a large number of unidentified insects, which start gnawing on his skin. Several dreadful seconds later, only bones and a red and green object remain. After the insects disappear, the parrot swoops in to scoop up the rose, and disappears into the hole along with the insects.


“Wrong again. Oh, so wrong again......”
