Early Chinese construction workers were noted for the small size of their fingernails.

At first this looked not very compelling to me, but I really like your point that "I'd say there's at least 1 scum/wolf in the above group." I'm sure someone else will swoop in and say that's trite or whatever but I actually think that's a fair point worthy of consideration, especially on D1.

Two players haven't posted at all, but I would tend to agree that in the block of "blasé participation" there is probably at least one enemy. I have my personal thoughts about the players in your list but as a heuristic for town to look at today, it's a good starting point.
I wanted to respond to the first post myself with a "feeling daring today are we"

....but then food swoops in here and starts drooling over "how good a p oint it is"?

wtf?

he listed 9 players. How is it at all interesting to assume theres -at least- 1 scum in there? Thats half the bloody playerlist
I especially disliked his pre-emptive dismissal of people calling it out for being trite.
I don’t really want to argue about this with the Snide Remarks Gang, but

1. It’s not a random group of 9 players, it’s a selection based on analysis
2. “At least” means “a minimum of”
3. It says things about HB

I don’t understand the edgy snark, either. Are you 14?

Does anyone remember any game damo played as mafia? How was he? I find his messages detailed and careful but in a towny way. I guess I have town vibes from him.
Damo and I were scum two games in a row awhile back. If he's scum, just keep an eye out for his arguments to make no sense.
He pointed out that brain missed the fact that mafia already knows the setup. That was a careful observation and makes sense so +1 point. He townread brain for this. I'm not sure if this makes brain more scummy but damo townread him which means damo truly believed that brain townslipped and it was genuine. I don't think so.
brain and damo are both scum.
Hmm, I’m not so sure. This feels like the kind of thing damo would catch as either alignment...

I personally don’t think this is a fake townslip from scumbrain, either, but that’s probably more based on his whole iso.

Both damo and brain are in townlean for me right now.

What happens when you are wrong?

Does Vecna only agree with you when you are right? Surely this would imply that Vecna is the one displaying cleverness and judgement while you just thrash around wildly.

That being the case, why are you buddying Vecna so hard?
When we disagree I ignore his opinions.
imo youre starting to sound more and more like bo_sox
I'm just being self-aware. Bo can't do that.

Bona is once again his way too fluffy playstyle. Somewhat equating it to him being non-town by now
It's an early d1 offhand comment. You can't read anything into it.
this implies you think Vecna is town, and an authority over public opinion.
Do you fear Vecna will sway the game his way?
This post makes brain less scummy in my eyes and makes me suspicious about Bona. Like Bone, I townread Vecna too but he assumed that Vecna is town when writing this. Does Bona know who's mafia and who's not? We have the werewolf though. It's still suspicious and I'm fine with switching my vote to Bona. I just need to catch up so I can see the thread clearer.

I got drafted. Let's get this bread.
What is this meaning?
You've never heard of Get this bread?
Obtain this grain?
Receive thus wheat?
Finagle this bagel?
Bone this scone?
Collect this baguette?
Take this cake?
Yeet this yeast?
Elope this loaf?
Wrestle this pretzel?
Solicit this biscuit?

(It really just means getting down to business tbh)
You’re working really hard to say not much of anything, RHK... I remember in the last game I played with you, I figured you were too scummy to be scum, and then you WERE scum. I don’t think I can give that pass this time.

RHK, who are your top 3 scumreads?

Ah it’s started. I’ve missed having a reason to waste time playing forum games.

A big hello and how are you to the new players. Or players that I haven’t played with before. If you haven’t played with me before, what’s your experience of Mafia?

People can edit their words once they're typed brain. I don't buy this.
This assumes that a scum player (macca) was self aware during a stream of consciousness post that they were being their ordinary self and went and self edited. Im not even sure how this refutes my point that they added faked enthuisiasm at the end to look towny. again this post was from M64 and not this game.
Scum players are always (or should always be) self-aware of what their posts look like.
this is completely untrue. and if anything this is the reason why scum mess up most often. alot of players hit submit without rereading. and it bites them in the ass as scum. not everyone is careful. this has never been true.

Quick hot take (caveat emptor) but I like what brain, chaqa, and bona are putting down. The caveat is that it could be so much attention paid to meta and the logic or relying/not relying on such that it's a clear distraction from hunting. I don't know, but I don't think I'd put a vote on any of them this early on.
how is it possible you liked what we put down when you clearly have absolutely no idea what our debate was actually about?

I don't have solid arguements for the following people but I got some impressions by reading the old pages:
Town leaning reads:
ghug
kgray
jamiet99uk
celaph
Scum leaning reads:
Bonatogether

Also Hamilton Brian 's posts sound like a novice mafia. I think I will vote for him. ##vote Hamilton Brian

Maniac's post...meh, not significant to conclude town/not town.

Damo? Meh, but points some fingers at brain and Chaqa.

Kakarotto? Hmm.

RDR. Not the typical entrance I feel like I remember from them.

Macca: that opening was weird, strangely enthusiastic, but then descends into book discourse.

Demon: not sure how I feel about the opening. Points finger at Bona but then seems to double down on the set-up.

yavu: interesting start. kind of synonymous with Demon.

celaph: is that some early pocketing happening?

ghug: ambivalent about their start. The vote seems to be nothing more than a placeholder until the temperature gets colder.

The remaining 8 players have posted much more so it'll be a longer read from me, but I'd say there's at least 1 scum/wolf in the above group.
At first this looked not very compelling to me, but I really like your point that "I'd say there's at least 1 scum/wolf in the above group." I'm sure someone else will swoop in and say that's trite or whatever but I actually think that's a fair point worthy of consideration, especially on D1.

"There is at least one scum in this half of the game" Is not an earthshattering take.
I completely agree with that. NAI for DemonRHK but foodcoats can be added to my scum list in the last message
