Townread him I meant.
Less fun.

I townread them because they felt very legitimately townslippy in trying to answer Bozo's survey.

Macca, Hamilton, Rivera, and Darg
I somehow forgot Macca was in this game. Why you scumread him?
Did you assume that was a list of scumreads because you have a guilty conscience?
My conscience is as pure as possible. I am 100% guaranteed vanilla town.

No, that one's just offering my own opinion. I'd still like to hear her answer.

I'm just saying I'd prefer to know {HR's} reads. So far all we've gotten from him that I would consider a read is a naked vote for me.
Agree. HR hasn't been super helpful this game yet. I think it's a learned habit since he's often killed early.

Okay. You make some good points, I don't disagree with any of that. And I've also just skimmed your ISO and it's not really fair of me to say you're not giving reads. You just have a lot of other contributions that aren't the kind of thing I engage with as much (like mechanics and statistics) that was drowning them out for me somewhat. But you're right, different playstyles shouldn't affect reads.
To turn over a new leaf... quotes like this looks towny to me. Not because it's approving of me, but because it's indicating the capacity to both reconsider AND come to NEW conclusions. "reconsidering" alone is basically "hedging," and "being convinced" could basically be buddying/blending. So... town points for doing both at the same time.

I don't know of any reason for Maniac to say we should kill Rivera before too long that is not due to Rivera being vanilla. Even if it's because the assumption is that mafia would NK that role, the case for Rivera's death is still tied to his role. How is what you're saying different?
The closest he gets is here:

We don't need the numbers. But Rdriveria needs to be town jesus and lead to to a scum {REDACTED} D2 or we'll have to kill him D3. Sound harsh, but he is likely to die before end game anyway. If he is scum and we kill him it will emphasize that Mafia have recruited I think.
I'm not really defending Maniac on this. But his nuance seems to place a greater weight on rivera's status as "needs to be fearkilled by someone," rather than his role.

That said, on iso/reread/searching for these quote, Maniac seems really hedgy. Like he's not reading, but repeating other people's arguments. Look at the way he's talking about people here:

People I won’t vote for today:

Rdriveria – I’m not even going to bother reading him. If I had to guess I’d say he is town. If he is, he knows it’s a team game and why we have to kill him before too long. Hopefully he’ll put in some spade work and leave us with some useful insights.

Bo_Sox – I’ve isolated and skimmed Bo and can’t find anything that jumps out as scummy to me.
Ghug – someone else I’ve isolated. He doesn’t appear out of character (apart from Haikus obviously), small question mark over whether he is super engaged, but I think I need more than that to vote for him today.
HR – Not contributing much. But could be a key player towards the end IIRC
Hamilton – seems to participate. Nothing shady
Dargorygel – seems engaged and trying to solve the puzzle.

People I need to look at more closely and could be persuaded to vote for:

Kgray, macca, Teacon7 (very slight town lean)

People I could vote for today:

Jamie, Damo, Bunny, Chaqa, Vecna

Jamie I’ve reassessed completely. I had him as fairly solid town because of his opening spat with me, but now I’m really not sure about him. His DK could help in D1 voter analysis. His participation seems to ebb and flow and lots of words as if spamming the thread to make t harder for us all, I know that can be his style. I just feel this game, he could be scum.
Of the other four, none of them would be a big loss to our efforts to solve the puzzle. All need to do more. This game will depend on people working harder I think.
This is like... darg/emc/bunny grade hedging/qualifications. I expect more from Maniac, especially after the excellent performances in such games as M52, or literally any other game he's been in. What's going on here?

@maniac, are you really running for parliament? Can I have a job?

Can anyone give me some insight as to what's going on in UK politics right now ?

Because why spend the money on a double voter when you can recruit and get an extra vote from that as well as a much higher chance of actually winning
Because if scum don't take double vote they leave that role for town.
Not saying that I would take Double Voter if i was scum, just that I'd have to consider the options.
Hmmm... 18 players. Starts 15-3

If mafia recruit, voting power is 15-4 since each side effectively gains one.
If mafia buy Double Voter, voting power is 15-4, same. BUT the voting power is now concentrated in one of their three players, which means that one player is now much more critical to the team.

I could see it going either way depending on the scum team.
WHAT?

Hey ghug.

I've not re-read you. I tried earlier, but the the haiku actually got in the way of me making sense of what you were saying. Let's chat.

1. Why is bo scum?
2. if bo wasn't an option today, who else would you vote for?
3. is this normal behavior for damo or Maniac or Bunny?

1. Why is bo scum?

3. is this normal behavior for damo or Maniac or Bunny?
1. As a person or in this game?
2. darg, damo, or kgray. Jamie if Flum tells me he's confident on the slip.
3. My recent memory of damo as scum is that he was less invested, which he is here, but for a reason he gave pregame. As town, he says a lot of shit that makes no sense, and usually doesn't explain any of it, but I feel like I can see that his brain is actually trying to figure things out. He's making too much sense this game.

Maniac has no normal.

I've seen Bunny once as town where we daykilled him D1, once as 3P, and nonce as real scum. I've heard he's very good at scum, but I don't know what that looks like. His approach this game feels townie to me.
