LOL you need to talk to my friends or family... they give me shit all the time for having no filterJamiet99uk wrote: ↑Fri Oct 30, 2020 9:08 pmI like to do some thinking inside my head before I say things.Chaqa wrote: ↑Fri Oct 30, 2020 9:06 pmDo you never weigh both possibilities against each other?Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Fri Oct 30, 2020 8:59 pm
Well do you think that, or not?
Saying "if" you think something is a bit weird. Openly speculating about what you, yourself, might be thinking.....?
Also I'm super high. It's Friday baby
Are you incapable of thinking about things without typing? What a strange syndrome, does it have a name?

Well, I challenged Chaqa to get involved, and whether it was down to my challenge or several grams of street cocaine, he's done plenty of that, so ##UNVOTE.

lol I've had some very strange things going on the last few days, which anyone is free to DM me to find more about lol (it's not game related at all, but I don't feel like sharing it with the whole class)Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Fri Oct 30, 2020 9:24 pmWell, I challenged Chaqa to get involved, and whether it was down to my challenge or several grams of street cocaine, he's done plenty of that, so ##UNVOTE.

Jamie, weed and cocaine are not the same thing.
Cocaine is way more fun.

He didn't actually say what he was taking, just that he was under the influence of something or other.

On the contrary I was commending their positive effect in terms of making Chaqa much more chatty and participative.

Christ, Jamie. There are times it's a real treat to be on the other side of your writing. I can't stop snickering.Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Fri Oct 30, 2020 9:17 pmI have this mental image of Chaqa sitting helpless in a high-backed armchair, his head lolling to one side, saliva dripping from one corner of his open mouth, until suddenly he is presented with a laptop and his mind springs into action, rendering him capable of thoughts, actions, ideas.... and apparently recreational drug abuse. Or perhaps that's what caused the condition in the first place, who knows. Medical science is baffled.
I do recognize the "syndrome" within myself, though. My wife was horrified when she came home from 2 weeks in Japan. In the meantime of living like I was 20 again, I watched a documentary on adult ADHD. Within minutes of her getting home I assert, "I think I need meds!" Anyway, I relate...random thoughts, rabbit holes, inattention, lack of a filter, difficulty reading social cues, etc.
If I didn't write my thoughts as I typed, they'd be gone. Baffled or damned.

No counter wagon. No one wildly defending teacon. New scum protection strategy, or we are barking up the wrong tree.
Stupid tunnels, anyway.

I just mean give opinions on people and their alignments. Lists are fine, so is mentioning things as they come up. I haven't made any lists but I still think I've been pretty open about my scumreads, so from my POV yes.
No, where do you get that? He's totally null to me. I'm just saying I'd prefer to know his reads. So far all we've gotten from him that I would consider a read is a naked vote for me.Is it alignment-indicative that he plays differently than you would?HR has hardly given enough content for me to get a read on him. In my experience he is normally not very active early in games, although I'm not sure I've seen him be this absent. I would prefer he talk more about reads and less about strategies/mechs also, but he's not preaching about how town should be posting with substance so I'm not as bothered by it.
I don't know of any reason for Maniac to say we should kill Rivera before too long that is not due to Rivera being vanilla. Even if it's because the assumption is that mafia would NK that role, the case for Rivera's death is still tied to his role. How is what you're saying different?I don't think Maniac is saying that rdriv should be daykilled due to his role. It sounded more like he running with the "rdr needs to be DK'd if he's alive past d3, because it means he hasn't been NK'd." Ask him if you've characterized his argument fairly.
Okay. You make some good points, I don't disagree with any of that. And I've also just skimmed your ISO and it's not really fair of me to say you're not giving reads. You just have a lot of other contributions that aren't the kind of thing I engage with as much (like mechanics and statistics) that was drowning them out for me somewhat. But you're right, different playstyles shouldn't affect reads. That's an impressively long sentence. My concern about you isn't that you're talking about general strategies or mechanical issues, it's posts where you say things like town should post reads so they can be held accountable, but then you don't seem to be posting a lot of your own reads even though you're clearly being active and talking about other things. It's the two things together that rub me the wrong way.
It sounds a bit like you're finding it alignment-indicative that people approach the game differently than you.
I tend to commit to reads at ends of phases. Like I did on pg 70. Posting those during phases is iffy because things change as people talk. Unless you want me to one-word comment reply to quoteboxes? Because town players are capable of being bad at their role, rooting out hypocrisy or bad attitudes doesn't reliably mean finding out their alignment, not anymore than only talking about mechanics or strategy. For my part, I think that focusing too much on people's attitude or tone tends to be unproductive. We're all very different. Some people think that "scumhunting" is pushing people and being rude. Others do it by getting reactions, or reading the thread but not commenting. Is that AI?

Did you assume that was a list of scumreads because you have a guilty conscience?
