Anyone down for a 2-day full-press game?

#1 Post by Peregrine Falcon » Sun Aug 02, 2020 10:26 pm

I played the Liberty cup online yesterday, which has made me think I should play more diplomacy for some reason.

I'm looking for 6 other players for a 2-day (I'm thinking either 48 or 50h phases) full-press game.

New players, old players, good players, learning players, all are welcome. That said, I do want reliable, active people. If you don't know if you can commit to active messaging over a several-month game, it might not be the one for you.

I don't care about most settings, but I do want to insist on DSS (or even unranked if people want). Some will disagree, but I don't like the incentives SoS creates.

My RR is 68% atm because i missed a few deadlines a few months ago because of school. However, if you will have me, i wanna play. I promise that i won't miss any move!

I was just thinking the same thing the other day - would be great to get some full press diplomacy going again. Haven't done any in ages!! I'm in if you'll have me!

Tobieee, I am a bit worried about your RR. School will also be starting back up shortly. What's to say you won't end up in the same position as before?

School will start in one month for me. I'm pretty sure i will be less buzy then last year because i will have less courses to follow. I understand it if you won't have me, but i really wanna play and i promise not to miss moves.

I'll play!
Haven't played a press game on webdip before (just a couple gunboat games); I've played on playdip but was disappointed with the lack of communication and reliability from some players, so I wanna see what's up over here. Hoping for a good, engaging game!

Welcome to webDip, run400IH, we'd be happy to have you!

sheylmann, a 55% RR is very not great. Do you actually think you can commit to active, reliable play in this game?

Keen to play. Been a bit inactive over the last few months but ready to recommit to a game or two, especially if it is 2 day turns

Anyone have preferences over game settings? I mentioned I would like DSS and 48h or 50h phases, but don't really care beyond that.
Do y'all have opinions on anon or hidden draw votes?
I also have no idea what's a good amount of excused missed turns to have, so happy to go with whatever you all think.

I'm also good to start whenever. Do any of you have limitations over when you can start?

I also am easygoing about the settings. I think the number of excused missed turns should be low....but I don't know what "low" is here.
With 2 days between turns and the point being to have a game with reliable players I'd expect this to be a moot point.

I think that 1 excused turn is good.
I think ano is the best, but i don't really care.
I also don't care about HDV or not.
As long as the bet stays below 40 :points: i can play ;)

My preference is for it to be anon, less than 50 points and for it to start asap. Don't mind if it is 48 or 50 hours, shouldn't make too much of a difference. Don't mind about the other settings.
