Kill the virus with the ship's anti virus rather than daykill, yes.

However of course this is the very reason 3p might not be so subservient! We can but hope.
No real need to hope. See, the Virus can be night killed, just like every Townie. The Virus NEEDS to be recruited so they become BULLETPROOF. And I would expect the NEB occupants to test any recruit claiming the 3P role. So, every night that passes without being recruited will be like 3P playing Russian roulette...
I think damo needs to read the setup again.

Virus needs to be red pilled, then targeted by the maf for a NK, and THEN lynched by town (in that order) in order to win. Bismark was suggesting a solution to let virus win. Damo then countered by saying we should off them. This does not go well towards building trust.

Town losing the day QT isn't great, but hopefully by that point the mafia are whittled down and we have a lynch to spare. After all, the final stage relies on mafia hitting the virus with their NK. The only danger to the virus in this scenario is if town breaks their promise.
There are 2 points.

1. I am sure the 3p would rather enter the ship incognito than wearing an 'I am the virus t shirt' so they may be inclined to risk waiting for a while to see if they get recruicted rather than outing themselves.

2. My reply to Jamie was to point that killing the virus would need to be the anti virus rather than daykill.

I wholeheartedly agree with you, damo, on point 1. The ideal world is for the virus to enter quickly, and incognito. However, this is my purpose of bringing up the conversation. Because wouldn't it be better for both parties if they were recruited immediately? Virus can get to the next stage of their wincon. Town gets an unkillable vig with infinite shots. By creating consensus and trust, I am hoping that we can convince the virus to join us openly and willingly. This is a prisoner's dilemma, and we need to start cooperating now. Because what I don't want is the virus adding a random, non-town-directed NK each night, which for the first couple of nights will more likely hit town than not. I'm hoping to avoid waking up D2 and finding two town dead.

So yes, you're absolutely right that the virus would rather enter unnoticed. Because if they are known, the Neb crew can kill them off at will, for free. I'm trying to show everyone else how important it is to co-opt the virus so the virus can rest a little easier knowing they won't be killed-that we won't pull that trigger, and perhaps will willingly join us.

Your second point confuses me. A daykill let's the virus win. The antivirus has the virus lose. Two different outcomes.

@ghug - nothing concrete yet. I notice you and Tom are all over me for petty little things, but I'm supressing the urge to OMGUS you two, as well as supressing the instinct to town read Bunny because they agree with me on the virus. Conversation is starting to flow though, so hopefully I'll start getting more concrete feelings later in the day.

I like spreadsheets.
This seems like new information. I don't recall this coming up before, including when Squigs or I or others have talked about them. What information do you enter into your spreadsheet, Jamiet?

Tell us about your spreadsheet, Nanook. What data are you collecting? What are you measuring? How do you detect non-obvious connections between players that could be scum-teams? Do you think the mason chat will make town players appear connected in a way that is usually scum-indicative?
Don’t care about connections d1 tbh, that’s relevant after finding a scum

My spreadsheet is fucking exhausting I forgot how much I hate data tabulation. If it becomes relevant I’ll share my conclusions
Can you tell us anything specific you're keeping track of?

I’ve posted once regarding Goldie and suddenly I’m “all over him for petty things”

Woah buddy.

Also, ghugs reasons were way more petty than mine and I’m offended I got lumped in there.

Will try to start reading now, but I have a meeting in half an hour.

With scum daychat available I don’t think a scumbo who is newish(?) would accidentally vote the GM.

I think you have it wrong, goldfinger0303. The Virus only wins after a daykill if that is their THIRD wincon achievement. If, by chance or otherwise, the daykill is the Virus D1, or Virus gets night killed by the agents without being redpilled, that is it for the Virus! Kaput! Adieu!

I think "teammates told him to be dumb" is equally plausible.
