Changing names?

#1 Post by Sunstriker » Thu Jan 09, 2020 9:16 pm

At the moment I seem unable to change my registered account name. I was wondering 1) if this was something I'm just blindly missing or 2) if it's a feature that has yet to be added and I should voice my support behind this feature?

IDK about other folks, but I do know that when I first was setting up this account I did what I always do when I have to submit a name of some kind...I choose the first combination of words that came to mind. However the name...grates on me a bit.

It's intentional you cannot for several reasons. Most importantly, it requires manual labour from our admins and is prone to mess up the database. You're also not allowed to create a new account. In short, you're stuck with this forever.

I know of at least two members who were allowed to change their names...

It's allowed when the username reveals personal information, or when you win the yearly Zultar Xmas raffle..

My name is Yavuz, my nickname is yavuzovic.
Can I change my nickname?
Or do I have to change my real name?

2/2/2?

Alex, you couldn't have been born in Spring 1902. That's not a build phase.

This explains a lot about VillageIdiot. Definitely wasn't a long-term choice ;)

Agreed, you can't hold that cap for too long. Someone crazier will come along eventually.

I think my name changed. It used to be Maniac and now it’s Maniac . (Which a space after it) I don’t know why.

We'll need a hardcopy birth certificate from you before we believe your real name is Flavius Aetius.

Sunstriker seems legit as a first name though.
