All round 2 invites should have been sent out. If you were supposed to receive one and didn't, please let me know.

ALL ROUND 2 GAMES SHOULD BE FINISHED BY OCTOBER 17 AT 7 PM CENTRAL.

Scores will be calculated at that time.

Due to a slight structural change in the tournament bracket, there will be 22 players moving on to round 2.
What “structural change” in the bracket was needed that then necessitated 22 advance rather than 20? Also, how many others at webDip moonlight for the Trump Administration? 🤔

Oh wow. I'm surprised I managed to get so close to the cut-off. Congratualations to everyone who actually made it, and good luck.

Not that it matters but the three players listed as 19th should be 20th

I wish there were some sort of rating/weighting depending on what countries you played. I will probably be the only person to not have played France in the entire thing...

Solo rates for first part of the tournament was:

Italy 38%
Germany 34%
France 34%
Turkey 33%
England 31%
Russia 17%
Austria 17%

Maybe my viewpoint is biased - I played Russia in two test games and soloed both - but all powers but Austria seem to be equally easy/hard to me.

And Austria, if Italy goes for lepanto, then the solo is expected. If Italy attacks you then, c'est la vie.

That's what happened in my Austria game. I solo'd Germany and England just fine.

Smart move to toss Austria in the first round. Now you have Russia, Turkey and Italy, I presume. That likely gives you the best odds of winning this tournament.

Well, if I had known how the format worked, I may have done it differently. The question was simply what your favorite ones to play were :p

I haven't played any games since the bots were reworked. I may need to invest time into playing a few dozen more before I play my tournament ones.

You will need to. Just went 0 for 3 and it's definitely because I didn't prepare enough. I can only blame one loss on being Austria and getting mobbed

I have a long series of excuses! A little to drink, not practicing, forgetting that the bots got better, playing after midnight, not renewing the blood sacrifice I made for success in the first round. Lots of room to improve.

There isn’t even a bracket in this tournament, so to suggest that the non-existent bracket needed to be modified to improve the tournament, and it was due to improving the fictitious bracket that resulted in 22 people qualifying for the finals rather than 20, it all seems disingenuous... I thought this tournament was just for fun, why the need to change the rules mid-tournament when it’s just for fun, or if the reason for the change was because 21 people outperformed xorxes in the first round and the powers that be wanted him in the finals so they changed it so 22 people could qualify, you can just say that...
