I think Georgia ends up going for Biden late tonight off the back of Atlanta. They still have over half a million ballots left to count in the Atlanta area, and the voting there so far is something like 70/30 Biden (napkin math averages of different county-by-county results). Trump has a sizable lead but Biden is definitely still in range.

I'm standing by all the rest of my picks from the map, but I think I got Georgia wrong, and Georgia is enough to flip the election to Biden. We will see what happens in Pennsylvania over the next few days!

I doubt he needs Georgia. With AZ and NE-02 in hand all he needed was MI and WI. WI has Biden slightly in the lead while MI has now closed to a 1.4 ballgame with 13% outstanding. Expect that to break 65-35 or so for Biden and he'll get it by the 6th. Lawsuits will introduce chaos, but without them this should be game, set, and match for Biden. On the other hand, DCCC and DSCC should be handing in their resignations after a shameful performance. How we did so badly there is beyond me. Just pathetic.

Biden is now leading in MI and WI...

Impressive, but usually people vote FOR their candidate, not turning out to vote AGAINST...

Looks like Susan Collins has been returned. With Gary Peters also down slightly in Michigan as of now (even though Biden is winning Michigan), it will likely need a miracle for the democrats to take the Senate now.

Whether or not he wins the presidency, I am betting Biden beats the popular vote margin of Obama in 2012 (which was 3.9%) and the popular vote margin of 2004 for Bush (which was 2.4%) which were both seen as clear victories for Obama and Bush.

Which is of course...nuts if he doesn't actually turn out to be the victor in the electoral college.

MI called for Biden. Fox has him at 264 now. CNN has him at 253 (they aren't calling Arizona yet).

Out of curiosity, are all Yanks taught a two letter code for every state at school? And, aside from confusing foreigners, what is the purpose of the code?

Ok ok the clown is soon gone. Good job indeed. I congratulate you for this important achievement. But still remaining are all the people that voted for the clown. How are you going to "fix" that? Maybe you need to fix your school system giving all your kids a proper education of the kind that we would expect of any civilised country?

Yes, you learn in school. Abbreviations are used in the mail and headers for resumes, and when you want to put MI instead of Michigan when you still have 49 more states to go....

In senate news:

Gary Peters (D) has taken the lead in Michigan and it's slowly increasing.

Unfortunately, I don't really see the democrats getting to 48 senators. With the right candidate in Maine, Collins was probably defeatable. Mark Kelly looking strong in Arizona, though I haven't seen it called yet. North Carolina and Georgia will have to yield two democratic senators...

Trump's going to need Nevada along with holding PA/NC/GA. Interesting to see those 10,000+ "none of the above" votes in Nevada.

At the end of the day, Trump disrespecting McCain was not a smart move. Makes it much more likely that he loses this election, and gave the democrats a real shot at taking control of the senate (along with the two independents).

This is good news. It suggests that in a deep red state, people can still vote their interests. I'm sure the results in Arizona will cause more than one Republican pause, even if just for a moment.

The result has also made sweating PA/GA/NC much easier for me. :)
