I tried, but it wouldn't allow me to join. Only the 'spectate game' button was available.

If it only allows you to spectate that usually means that the bet is too high.

This is a known issue sometimes and we're working on a fix. There's a work-around if there's a mod online, but apparently we missed this :-(

There's currently a bug where if a live game is full and someone leaves it, the game doesn't realize it needs to readd the join button. Mods can do this manually, but you have to email them for them to notice. I think I have a bug fix working in my dev environment that will just auto run the mod tool every time someone leaves a game, but since it impacts every game I want to test it...a lot, before I push it live. Hopefully within the next week. I just finished redoing all the mod tools this week so I should have the time now.
