Server move issues

Hi all, This is a thread for anyone who has any issues with / since the server move.

We simply moved from an old, obsolete server in Amsterdam to its latest incarnation. We now have a quad-core Xeon X3440 with 8GB of RAM and 2x 240GB SSDs at the same cost as previously.

This will let us do some more modern socket.io / Node.js web things such as instant chat and order submission which need more server power. It also gives us more room to run things on the same system, be it other translations, development installations, or off-shoot projects.

Thanks to all who donate to keep the servers up and online.

Cheers,
Kestas

Edit: [Complete] doesn't seem appropriate somehow .. :P

I'm glad to see that Kestas still loves us!

Instant chat and order submission would make live games even more fun than they already are.

Thanks for the work kestas.

How long was the downtime? I was expecting several hours...

Since the server move, I can, in anonymous games, when I am in the chatbox of another country, see the order status of all other players except the country whos chatbox I am in. This problem has existed before and was solved, but is now back.

Also, I get the following error messages when trying to look at player profiles or search for games:

"Error triggered: file_put_contents(variants/ClassicFvA/cache/territories.js): failed to open stream: No such file or directory."

EDIT: I see that Hellenic Riot has the same problem: viewtopic.php?f=17&p=21273#p21273

I get the same error as well. I can't access any of my own games, nor can I access the "home" page.

Odd. I am not seeing any of those errors.

One hypothesis is that the error occurs whenever one tries to load a page with a game with the FvA variant on it. I can indeed see the profile of @Jamiet99uk and I saw no FvA game there.

@RoganJosh, are you currently playing in FvA games that would be displayed on your home page?

I'm having a similar issue myself. I can't access my own profile (but oddly enough some profiles are visible, but I've only tested this with a few.)

For example, if you look at my profile (userID=98431) there's a glitch/error in the coding. "failed to open stream: No such file or directory."

Glad to see that WebDiplomacy is continuing to move upwards and onwards.

My profile loads fine, and I can also view your profile just fine.

Really? Interesting.

That's what shows up for me.

Yours loads no problem, though.

I'm encountering a strange issue where I'm somehow losing centers in my current games since the server switch. I can confirm was definitely not happening prior to the move. Please advise.

Yes, I am in two FvA games currently.

There was a similar issue with another variant earlier:

There seems to be a similar issue with GvI as well.

I have confirmed that anyone in a 1 v 1 game cannot access their games so I have toggled panic mode to stop processing until Kestas gets a chance to look at this. We'll try and handle the fallout from any CD's/NMR's that happened in the meantime over the next few days.

Always nice to know people appreciate the hours of work it takes to add new features to the site.

Is there a rough idea of when game processing will resume?

None at all. ATC fixed the issue, but still are waiting to be granted SQL access on the server server to check the impact of games that were messed up due to users not being able to enter moves for a while. Until we get that sorted we need to leave the site panicked.
