Site Downtime

Hello all,

We've been running into a problem with the service that is supposed to run once every 5 minutes to process games. Unfortunately it is only triggering once every half hour currently so stopped processing until this can be resolved. We're hoping to have this problem resolved soon. Our apologies for the down time. Once the issue is resolved we'll be adding a full 24 hours to all games to make sure that everyone has the chance to get their orders in. Any live games that were in process will be cancelled.

Once the problem has been resolved, if you run into problems with your games please post the reply in this thread so it can be quickly resolved.

Why add 24 hours? We can all still change our moves rn right? I think we're all eager to get these games moving instead of adding more time? :)

Then you should be able to convince everyone in your games to ready up.

I'm playing like 8 gunboats. I just don't understand why time needs to be added to extra time tbh

A lot of the time when people see a site is not working they do not bother to do anything else, like check if you can still enter moves. And with the extended period of down time we've unfortunately had, we want to ensure that everyone has the chance to get their moves in, especially in the games that have much shorter phase lengths.

@jmo - Durga is super busy and her time is worth more than most of ours, if you could please adjust your original decision and subtract 36 hours from all games to bring them back in line with Durgas time that would be excellent. Plus we all know how much of a positive impact NMRs have on games, why would we want to prevent that?

@durga - your welcome, I got your back.

It seems that all my games processed without the 24 hour delay, not that I have a problem with that.

Yes Kestas didn't add time before re-enabling which seems to have worked out fine.

I think this means I win.

Yep adding time is for when the system was down so people couldn't submit orders; if the server has been up and accepting orders the whole time not much point adding time. Sorry the notice was misleading.

There is a bug which I assume is a consequence of the downtime

I left the game "World - how ever many it is now" (which is in pregame status for 3.5 more hours)
http://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=215318

Its not possible to rejoin this game anymore.

There was one player leaving it during the Downtime, might have caused this
