I presume part of it is also because the AI is very new and does not have much experience, so it's still trying to work out how to balance its judgement and is constantly re-evaluating.
That's fair. Thank you!

And thanks for the continued development. I'm not trying to criticize the work that's been done; I'm just trying to understand.

OK... thanks for answering my question. One more, then... If you are just mapping analysis of my press/mouse movements and putting it on an rgb space, doesn't that mean that the colors represent nothing? No disrespect meant... I'm just trying to understand.

For example, I just finished a live game. The colors represented by the draw are red, green, purple, orange, blue, and yellow. My moods are represented by those colors... so my mood is very mixed?
Thanks!
The colors represent whatever the model thinks is important. By mapping to 3d space, we're essentially forcing the model to consider three dimensions when clustering your moods. Those dimensions may or not map neatly to English descriptions of mood.
OK, so if the color is represented by what the model thinks is important, but the color does not exactly pertain to mood, then why is it called a mood? It's just an output of a model. Not to say that it doesn't mean anything to some people, but again, I'm just trying to understand. Thanks!
Well at the moment the only people who can fully understand it are the people who can reverse map the colour to the graph. I'm not one of them. However, this is obviously a huge step forward in mood-reading AI's and something to be celebrated.
They'll have to work on making it understandable by the user, of course, but nothing's ever perfect the first time.

I think for me the mood can be directly correlated to the number of centres I own.

Some people might say the new index page looks gaudy, but I think it' a fitting culmination of the webDip beautification project.

Very retro, I hope we keep this!

This is almost psychedelic. Every time I refresh the home page, all of the colour bars on my finished game statuses change. I need to stop just sitting here clicking refresh and hoping to see a pattern! :-)

btw, probably unrelated, but the last map on this game has no colour on any regions, so you can't tell who owned anything:

When you type April-Fools without the dash, it comes up as April Fools

That finished before I made the changes. Never seen that before...no idea what could cause that either.

Lol... Now every instance of that one holiday that shall not be named is being changed to May 1st.

This also happened in this game http://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=237469 . I'm convinced that it's because the game drew in the retreats phase.

What holiday falls on May 1st? I think you're confused.

I absolutely LOVE the color splashes on the side of the game updates. I am attempting to understand which moods are related... but so far, they make me feel all cheeful like. And happy. And at peace.

We must have accidentally taken the colors off the map and put them on the home page.

The new mood indicators are great. I'm in a game with some absolute knobs and now my mood is shown as ennui all of the time. Can't wait for these changes to be ported to the politics forum. I hear racists have their mouse sensitivity set real low.

Not to piggyback off Kremmen, but this game did that with the colors too. http://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameI ... #gamePanel

The color-coded "mood" indicator is unintuitive and distracting. I'd rather a random color be assigned to each game and applied consistently, as right now the "mood" indicator has no key, and from the explanation given, there is no correlation between the colors and human moods, so this is just noise.

Without a more detailed explanation of how the color is computed from the data gathered, and the methodology of how that data is gathered, I find the "mood" indicator quite irritating.

I believe the AI is based on quantum computing, the mechanics of which can be a bit hard to understand but here's a handy guide for beginners.
