Team chess?

I am thinking about organizing a game of team chess on the forum. I'm looking for, say, six to eight players to be broken into two teams - one playing the white pieces and one playing the black pieces (so each team has three or four players). The idea is that players on your team switch off who makes each move. (I don't think I want to enforce a strict rotation between players - in case someone gets bored and drops out - but we should say that no one is allowed to make consecutive moves for their team.)

I don't care how good or not-good you are: as long as you know how to move the pieces (along with how chess notation works), you are welcome to play. I have done this before in graduate school; disparity in abilities lead to some pretty hilarious results.

Of course, no cheating (by using chess engines or anything like that).

Thanks for your interest! I am thinking that we could just add moves to a running scoresheet:

1. e4

1. e4 e5

1. e4 e5
2. Qh5

etc., and then periodically I (or someone else) could post a picture of the game. I guess an alternative way would be to create a study in Lichess or something like that and try to keep it updated as possible; I will have to think about that.

I'm not quite interested in this. But I am willing to do a blindfold simul against up to 4 opponents. They can use boards if they want, I would visualize without referencing a board.

Great! That gives us five. It would be nice to get at least one more (but we can take as many more as are interested). I think I will plan on starting this on Sunday afternoon (US time) - regardless of whether or not we get a sixth.

Instead of trying to balance teams, I think I will simply randomly assign them.
