In this case, though, Jamie outed a scan on Bona that has no other explanation, and then Bona claimed the only town role scum could claim there in the hopes of taking the doc down with him. I don't see any other plausible way to interpret what happened. Jamie isn't going to leave a crumb like that if he doesn't have mechanical information. Letting Bona take the doc down with him is just bad play.

Does the difference have to do with the town/scum ratio heading into the next night phase?

Something like this?

At day phase:
3 town - 2 scum : Misskill town and Lose
3 town - 3 scum : Kill scum or lose

Or do I have that right?

If it's 3-2, you have to kill scum that day, or they win by killing a town at night and being able to vote as a block at 2-2. (assuming no mech saves or whatever)

If it's 4-2, you don't HAVE to kill scum. But if you kill town, then it's 3-2, and they kill town at night to 2-2 and win.

ND's strategy actually halfway worked last time as Mafia. Several people townread him for his antics. So I'm thinking this game he decided to resurrect that strategy, banking on the fact that people would assume he wouldn't be so obvious about using his previous scum-strategy, and therefore would townread him.

It still could be heart, but if Macca's wagon was all town D1 before Just voted for Macca, Macca could be the fourth busser with Just voting for all of his teammates D1.
