Is he a villain?

That is, is he either a primary or secondary antagonist, one of the "baddies", as it were, in the movie(s) or TV show(s) in which he appears?

I'm not clear what you're requesting clarify on.

Understood. So I will assume that you mean “Does the video-based medium for which this character is primarily known take place on Earth?”

Yes.

Fair point, there are indeed other video formats I'm overlooking. Hm - that does open up a new world.

The Microsoft Office assistant paperclip isn't fleshy nor do I think is the The Pillsbury Doughboy and I'd think both qualify as animated and not really science fiction per say.
Max Headroom looks fleshy but he's really just pixels so I don't think counts.

Hey wait a minute, how did I end up in a rabbit hole?!?! Damn you conq!

Free hint: It is not Clippy the Microsoft paperclip, nor is it Clippy inhabiting some other body, nor is it some other body inhabiting Clippy.

Now I am giving away free hints! Damn you, Village Idiot!

Why did you need to clarify his question?
What was ambiguous about it?
You are making this awkward for no good reason.
This is not a courtroom.

This is not a useful hint.
Clippy is not the size and shape of a human and does not have skin.

This is not a courtroom.
The only reasonable conclusions I can draw from your need for clarification on this query is that either:

a) The character is not from a movie or TV show, but some other "video-based media" (but not a video game either),

or

b) Your clarification was needless / trolling / a waste of time.

Since this now needs to be resolved, and we are having trouble getting close to an answer:

QUESTION: Is the character primarily featured in a form of "video based media" that is not in the form of a TV show or movie? (Such as, but not limited to, broadcast advertising, a web platform that is not in the format of a TV show, or a computer application that is not a game).

Sorry everyone, and sorry Balki, if it seems like I'm being grumpy for no reason. I know this game is supposed to just be a little fun distraction.

However, let me explain what's bothering me.

Let's imagine that, as the questionmaster in a fictional episode of this game, Balki is thinking of George W. Bush, former President of the United States. George W. Bush was born in Connecticut and prior to serving as President, lived in Texas, Massacheussets, and Alabama. Since leaving office he has lived in Texas.

Now let us suppose that I ask:

"Question: Is this person from Britain?"

Instead of answering the question, Balki responds:

"Just to be clear, are you asking whether this person is from the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, commonly known as the United Kingdom (UK), or are you asking if they are from the Island of Great Britain, the largest of the British Isles, or are you asking if they are from any one the British Isles, including the islands of Great Britain, Ireland, the Isle of Man, the Inner and Outer Hebrides, the Northern Isles, and over six thousand smaller islands?"

Now, while my question in the example above could have been formulated in a slightly more precise manner, the clarification is an irrelevant waste of time because George W. Bush is not from any of those places. Irrespective of how I might clarify my question in the above case, all possible clarifications would yield the same answer, which is "NO", because George W. Bush is not British, he is not from the UK, he is not from Great Britain, etc.

So the questionmaster should not seek such clarification. They should just post the answer "no".

To do otherwise, to seek clarification where clarification is not merited, and where clarification does not alter the answer that will eventually be given, is to falsely imply that the clarification is meaningful. That is, it gives the (presumably false) impression that the answer might be different, depending on what clarification is given by the questioner. In the example above, this is not the case, and therefore clarification should not be sought as the question is fully capable of being accurately and correctly answered as it stands.

I hope this explains my grumpy remarks above.

@Jamiet

Have a wonderful day, my friend.

I started trying to crisp up some of the questions, and then went overboard. My apologies.

This dude is in a movie, and it’s not Terminator 6: Clippy’s Revenge

So it's probably some kind of good or at least neutral alien.

Team: would we be better trying to narrow down the film, or learn something else about the character themselves?

Is the character's first appearance on or after 1st January 2001?
