I like those two, but they aren't human as required by Q2. Want to retract this guess?

Worth exploring further to narrow down.

Is their relationship to each other based off an occupation based connection?

(i.e. co-workers/associates, entertainment duo, crime solving detective and his assistant, police partners, tour boat captain and incompetent first mate, nutty doctors who work together in Korean War, etc)

Didn't mean to answer that first question twice... oops. So this should be questions 10,11, & 12.

For sake of summarizing.

1. Fictional
2. Human
3. Two males
4. First appeared in video form (tv, movie, video game, etc)
5. Not related
6. Presented as good/heroic
7. Do not wear masks
8. Has not appeared in more then four movies/video games/tv seasons together
9. Not primarily known for video games
10. Did not first appear before 1985
11. Relationship is based off occupation
12. Not primarily aimed at children audience

May as well narrow it down more.

Was the original video format movie?

Is the world those two live in like our world or very close to our world? (would include for example a USA [or other nations] with a different leader [mostly because they couldn't get the president to film in their movie] but a very similar history and technology level; wouldn't include a setting like in the movies Iron Sky or Independence Day which introduce a hard deviation like WWII Germany survived on the moon/Aliens openly came to our world)

like some names are different (Kaka Kola, Popsi, Dr. Salter) but it basically means the same

14. Hm. I would say they are characters that are known for being more comedic than dramatic.

15. Uncertain. I would say that their world is very close to ours except for the presence of one thing... I suspect you would consider it a hard deviation, but I'm not sure.

Very interesting narrowing,

A presumably comedy/dramatic pairing from a movie with some extraordinary situation that seems appropriate for kids and adults alike. Maybe like a Back to the Future or Ghostbusters or Bill and Ted type thing. Except those don’t work since one is a team and the others aren’t occupationally connected (maybe bill and Ted if you count their band). MIB was a much better good fit. Or maybe some mildly comedic superhero duo that doesn’t wear masks? Hmm.

Going to need to dig deeper.

Would this pairs movie be considered a form of sci-fi or fantasy? (including sub genres like sci-fi comedies, supernatural comedies, apocolyptic, etc)
