I meant are they solely famous for their involvement in politics? Someone like Bruce Springsteen has outspoken left-wing political views, but his main source of fame is not politics. So I guess the question is if this person is solely famous because of their political views.

There is nothing invalid about the question. The question is whether or not Jamie would view her as left wing which, as Jamie has spent his entire life being Jamie, he is uniquely qualified to answer. That you may judge the person to be a rabid right winger is completely irrelevant. You are entitled, or course, to take the view that Jamie's ability to judge what constitutes a left winger is piss poor and as such give his answer very little weight in your determination... although taking such a moronic view will all but guarantee that you don't win
