the badge doesn’t change alignment, no. it’s just a way to pass the role on to someone else when the itemsmith dies - but as it exists right now, there comes with it a risk that you may pass it to the mafia.

It’d be ideal to have a substitute available just in case — last time I ran a mini, I needed one and didn’t have one and had to ask darg when he wasn’t really available… so if I could get a volunteer that’d be awesome.

Also, while this setup was designed with 13 people in mind, there’s a bit of flexibility with the exact numbers based upon interest. If spots fill up and you want in as a player and not a sub, chime in and we’ll see what we can do.

Balance/Updates/etc.
After conferring with co-counsel we decided upon the following:
1. If a member of the Mafia receives the Apprentice Badge, and the Itemsmith subsequently dies, the Mafia member will become an Itemsmith. Be careful who you trust!
2. To avoid unintended flipping shenanigans, each player will flip as their role -and- alignment. The exact names will be as follows:
Vanilla Town
Town Itemsmith
Mafia Goon
Mafia Godfather
Mafia Itemsmith

And just to call out specifically, as I know I myself am inclined to sign up for things without reading: the EoD is at 5 Pacific/8 Eastern/Midnight UK, which may be tough for some people but advantageous for west coasters.

It’s our busy season at work so I’m not going to be nearly as active as I was a year ago when I wasn’t working. But that’s not saying much considering how much I posted during those games.

I have a big project deadline on the 25th, so that was actually a selling point to me. However, it's fine if it starts earlier; I'll just be a bit less active.
