How does you giving me advice square with voting me?

Why can't I give advice to someone in voting for? Same reason you carry on diplomacy with someone you're stealing dots from. The game can turn on a dime thanks to new information and even those you're attacking can be turned to act in your interest with the right information or advice.

Hell I don't even need to be wrong, since with it being multi there are easily cases where I could be right on my vote on you, you don't die, but you still choose to proceed based on my advice about who is town (notwithstanding that I misremembered your town list), combine it with your knowledge of who is on your scum team (assuming I'm right) and then take informed guesses at who the other mafia is and hopefully hit.

All the PMs mention there being two factions, but the vanilla one is the only one where someone not reading the setup might incorrectly conclude it's one terrorist team with a long name. "you win when Ezic and the Kolechian Terrorsts are eliminated"

RdR thinks it's a townslip which I might agree with, but if he was mafia he would have read the town PM and see two mafia teams in it and not make the connection someone like snowy could "townslip" off that. (Because he would assume townies would read that thinking there are two teams)

Obviously he thinks snowy might be faking this townslip and this doesn't say much about snowy's alignment, but thinking this is a "townslip" looks pretty good on RDR imo.

I can see this happening. Bussing at game start is an easy way to cast a vote without much consequence and distance from a partner.

idk Flum I didn't read all the PMs and I don't really have much to discuss here... I guess I'll think about this more later if you think it's really important but my instinct was that snowy "revealed" that he didn't know about the basic setup but that it didn't say anything about his alignment, so Rivera saying it was a townslip made me think Rivera might have gotten a scum PM

Just to end this (I hope) as gaming PMs is a bad approach.
I wasn't considering the PMs. My thought was that Mafia would know that there is two teams because he knew his two teammates and there is no way we have only 3 Mafia in a 18 people game. But then after your message I realized the PMs (all of them) have this info. So it's NAI.
