Everyone claims jester. Either the jester doesnt comply, and is outted as jester, or he just loses on the spot.

You know how happy people are to find the edge cases of the rules to win here. If you dont prohibit or pre-empt this somehow, it will happen.

I am asking you all to avoid tricky maneuvers/mechanics and little things like 'force everyone to claim Jester' to force the Jester to be revealed and thus lose. This is 'gaming the game' and isn't fun to witness.

If this is too much of an ask, just let me know and I'll scrap hosting this.

but if people are willing to adhere to this and change the general attitude of trying to break setups that way, thatd be a much bigger win ofcourse

I think I'm missing something. Why does there need to be a rule to prevent the Jester from claiming? If I understand the spirit of the role, the Jester is pretending to be scum in the same way scum pretend to be town. But they can't seem eager to be scumread, lest they be Jester-read.

The Jester would never claim Jester if they actually want to win, but the matter is complicated because non-Jesters might claim Jester to avoid being DK'd, claiming "I'll help town win" or whatever. There's also some funniness in that the Jester might gambit on claiming mafia, if they can get away wiht it. And this just seems like some classic third party WIFOM shenanigans.

What am I missing? How do claims break this setup?

This summarizes it right here.

I didn't think about everyone in the town and mafia just simply doing the 'I am the Jester' move in order to force the Jester out. If the rule stayed, this would also ruin the game.

what rule got removed? That there is a jester, or that the jester cannot out themself?

I don't like that there can be 2 winners, a jester and town. Better to have one winner where jester beats both or even where 2 jesters exist and they know who is town and scum and try to get them to kill each other off.
