Well, something happened. Why Vecna now HB? EMC can tie the vote now and a modkill is pretty bad (two in fact if Celaph also doesn't vote).

In short, days ago EMC was indicating how players like Vecna are frequently early night kills because of their solving skills. It’s a highly flawed decision on my part. However, in light of where we are in the game, it carries some weight.

I'll go back to something in my notes from D1. The whole parrot thing was weird and goofy and somewhat funny, but I questioned whether something like that, when it was "all" they were doing was helpful to town. I also saw it as distracting and drawing attention. Would scum necessarily bring that attention to themselves? No. However, it really shouldn't be indicative and someone could easily brush it off later.

However, when I was going back in the posts, there was a post from Damo. Remember when they went on their rant about "poison the parrot, shoot the parrot," did anyone else see that for what it could have been? My hypothesis is that this was a highly-orchestrated separation between scum; distancing, I guess.

So, quick flaws because I know it's not sound: they were a Damo voter on D1 ALL day until announcement. I thought originally, "way to go, you saw scum before any of us and you held to it until it was no longer possible." It was the foundation for my townread.

Now? I think there's more to it, and those that tried to explain otherwise...sorry it took this long.

I'm very tempted to say we've one active scum and one absent scum, but gives very little info lol. Will likely vote between celaph, Vecna and gimix today. Can't see myself scumreading anyone else.

WIFOM plays are certainly possible, but I think the RHK death actually looks good for Vecna. If we're assuming scum wants to kill the people that town townread, then RHK dying suggest that scum were bothered by Vecna's townread, giving townpoints to Vecna.

I think I need some equations or something here.

Demon death = good for Vecna because a) scum kill the most townread players and b) Vecna townread<Demon townread?

COuld we extend that to: Demon was more townread than the rest of us?

But then so what? I don't see how that extends into townpoints because there's 5 of us.

At this point, one of the best reasons for scum to NK someone is if town is townreading someone. They will be much harder to miskill and are a liability to beat scum in the endgame. Demon died which points to scum being worried that he posed a liability to them later on. He's far less of a concern if scum are the ones townreading Demon themselves. This points to the people who were townreading Demon not being scum, in this case, Vecna.

Reading through, on one hand I do want to continue townreading Vecna, on other hand usually I'd not be this suspicious of him. His damo reads in the past have usually been complete shit, so in hindsight the way he responded in D1 is mildly scummy - the accuracy invites questioning.

BUT at the same time this might be a stretch. Still, ##vote vecna for time being.

I've read everything you published this morning Celaph, but I feel like you've kind of justified a townread on nearly everyone.

But I guess that's the situation we're in. There's not a lot of information to gather, it's all speculation.

But...if there is the simplest metric to use, what would it be and who would it implicate?

I agree with this. I further broke it down to myself for which scum role do I think each person would be if scum.

Macca I excluded because they are my strongest townread by a mile. I think you, EMC, and to a lesser extent gimix, are more likely sniper than jailer. That leaves the jailer between Vecna and Rdr, with an outside shot at gimix.

Before today I thought rdr was much townier than Vecna, but today that has reversed a little bit and they are rather similarly ranked for me atm.

Im changing my mind on Celaph actually. The line of "everyone is going to reconsider my meta after this game" feels like such a damn towny thought. I dont think he goes that deep down the rabbit hole of faking a town mindset. And I sort of get it that its annoying when people take a small aspect of your meta and use that to base a read.

I don't think everyone is going to reconsider, only really you as you're the only person using my jovial-ness D1 as a tell as far as I can remember.
