I find it a lot easier to believe that summit just fucked up because he wasn't spamming refresh hard enough than I do that HB had town motivation for voting outside of his scumreads to try and force the head to head to be me vs Summit, and I very much struggle to believe that HB & Summit are together after that.

How did I fuck up? I broke the tie voting my "maybe less town" read. You move onto me, then off me, then want to hammer me after the gongshow has ended, then don't want to hammer me. This is crazy

If you were going to vote in self preservation knowing that I was going to move from HB to you if the vote was tied, you would have voted for HB. Your vote for HR ensured a tie even when I moved to HB in order to break a tie.

By runaway I mean that late votes were going on him, not that his wagon was in the runaway lead.

Now that our guests are gone, let me try to explain.

HR was lead wagon. My vote on Jamie was not going to garner anything with no one else moving. I felt less certain about Summit being town than Jamie. My vote made it 4HR/3Sum with some others behind.

Then I tended to my guests. Poured 3 of my beers for them. My time with the game was done until I could check back in.

As far as I was concerned, HR was going to go. I would have been more than happy with that.

Kgray, I think is in the clear. made a sensible move from Bozo to HB. Not a questionable move if the wagon was going to build on me.

I'm not of the mind right now but I think town needs to be looking at "who tied" and "who moved off the tie."

If I am going to go down, then it is imperative that we use the time remaining to build a case determining who the worse of the worse is. If I'm hung, that's going to be town down by 3 plus 1 due to Day3 mafia kill.

Conventional wisdom says those who want to hammer end the day are typically scum. You’re a bad, bad person (in this game...probably a gem in real life). If you’re town, then you’re stained more than I am for some horrendous play.

It does make sense for HR not to know the "mechanics of tie votes" any more than it does for him to think it was possible damo was the mafia target. rdrivera had already pointed out D1 why what HR was saying was unlikely to happen, even before damo turned out to be day-kill.

HR told us himself why we should scum read him for this:

On the flip side, this setup actually encourages late coalescing and/or last minute wagons, because if the scum can't react quick enough then their kill might be on someone who they thought was safe but actually got killed by a last second wagon. This only needs to happen once, in combination with our BP being hit, to get us an extra daykill.

Putting its validity aside this is a towny post.

Is it, though? Mechanics-talk is and will always be the easiest thing to fake as scum, because it's very easy to approach a setup from a mechanical perspective and work out the best strategies for it regardless of your role.
