Partially being more busy than I used to, but I think it's mostly just that I burnt out. I stopped finding the game as fun as I used to.
I mostly play Survivor instead now, over on Mafiascum; it suits my playstyle a lot more than Mafia did - I was always a fairly selfish player and that doesn't work well in a team game :D
Survivor like the TV show?

How do challenges work? This sounds like something I might be interested in.

There are a lot of different types of challenge so it'd be easier for you to have a look yourself I think :D

This is the challenge forum from Super Survivor Bros, the first post in each thread gives the details of the challenge: https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/super_s ... -mode-f20/

The Challenge: The Void wasn't technically a Survivor game but used a lot of challenges that were similar to ones used in their Survivor games, everything is linked in the third post of this thread.

And recently Fluminator, VashtaNeurotic and I ran one, you can find the challenges for that in the Main Challenge Forum (skip the subforums at the top, challenge threads are underneath them) and the Redemption Island Challenge List. Again, first post of each thread details the challenge.

That looks like three open co-GM spots, and that should also carry us through the end of the year or very close to it. I don't think that list should get any longer right now.

I don't need to GM, I just said I would do it if needed. I'd rather play if we have willing GMs. But Yav has said he wanted to GM a setup, so you can take me off, and put Yav on.

@DemonRHK - I really like the idea of your score system, I’m not sure if one game will be enough to detect outliers as they are very individual. But I think it will be useful with more data.

I’m still ok with a Bozo lynch, but his latest posts have seemed a little more reasoned, I am going to do a reread assuming he is town and see if it changes my mind.

@Bozo - Why do you think we should lynch yoyo?

Necro'ing a little, but if anyone ever needs a co-GM, I am down to do it. This experience with doing the invitational has been great and I'd love to get more experience before stepping in and GM'ing myself.

RULE 15 to be discussed by all members of the community.

Rule (15)
Publicly calling for a GM in a game will be no longer allowed. There is no reason to call the GM about the setup, or about mechanics. these questions should be PM'd to the GM and the GM will make decisions on if information should be public. If a ruling requires further elaboration the GM will address the issue in game thread. But calling for GM's has become an issue. It is being used by players to have the GM validate concern and validate alignment. This should never happen. This does not happen on other sites and is unique to webdip unfortunately.

If you have a game related concern about terminology, a role, a typo, or a mistake then it should be brought to the GM attention privately in an environment that does not adversel influence players reads.

Additionally the only exception to rule 15 would be asking a GM for a vote count, which is always permissible. This is mitigated mostly by having Peterbot but still is a request that any GM usually would honor.

Just read the old mafia council GM guide and the last couple games have broken like half of their rules. Lol.

I oppose Rule 15. GM calls are often necessitated when the GM has made an error or omission. Players are entitled to accurate and clear information about the rules and the setup, unless the setup is closed or only semi-open, and then only to the extent that those games restrict information.

I have GMed 6 games (I think), two small and four large, and I feel no need for such a rule.

Secondly, with regard to the Peterbot, it is an unofficial game aid, and not a replacement for the GM. The GM should still be obliged to publish vote counts, at a reasonable frequency, and to check for valid votes that the bot has missed.

@ Squigs:

The "Mafia Council" was reduced to just Hellenic Riot and he decided it was no longer required, bearing in mind there was now a "Forum Games" section of the forum so Mafia could be kept there and not intrude onto the rest of the forum where it had been bothering non-Mafia people.

* Sorry, I should say, I oppose the proposed Rule 15. It is not necessary.

If adopted it should be rule 14 with existing rule 14 renumbered as 15.

This rule doesn't get rid of GM calls. It gets rid of public GM calls. If errors are discovered, a private GM call should be made, and then the GM will publicly correct the error.
