Sadly this measure has still not been achieved in England, in practice.

Yes, it would be nice to do so.

1284 AD Prince Edward son of Edward is born, he will be the first Pince of Wales as the heir to the English (and later British) King.

Well, I'd prefer it along the lines of:

1290 AD The University of Coimbra is founded in Lisbon, Portugal by King Denis of Portugal; it moves to Coimbra in 1308. He also commands that Portuguese will be the country's official language instead of Latin.

1291 AD The Siege of Acre ends when Al-Ashraf Khalil of Egypt captures Acre, thus exterminating the Crusader Kingdom of Jerusalem (the final Christian landholding remaining from the Crusades) and ending the Ninth Crusade and effectively all Crusades, by eliminating the possibility of further attacks on the Holy Land. There will be 627 years until a Christian ruler will be governing the Holy Land.

From the two of them, Duomo is much more impressive and majestic. I didn't realise at the time that both churches were exactly 700 years old when I visited them. Thanks, Wusti, for awaking some old memories.

1296 AD King John I of Bohemia is born. He will be remembered as the Blind King of Bohemia. His condition will not stop him from fighting (alas, and dying) in the Battle of Crecy in 1346
