U-Boat 1062 (Name, quite imaginatively, U-1062), was a torpedo carrier, that carried 39 Torpedo's for other U-boats to resupply while at sea. Was sunk by the USS Fessenden (DE-142).

Battle of Cerami was fought in June 1063 Battle of Cerami was fought. 163 mounted knights and some "slightly" larger number of infantry, defeated Sicilian and Zirid troops, numbering (maybe) 3,000 horse man, and 50,000 infantry.

1066 ΑD The Saxons defeat the Vikings in such a way that only 24 ships were needed to carry the survivors when 300 were needed to get them to England. In turn, they were defeated by the Normans changing the rulers of the country and putting the seeds for centuries of rivalry and war with the other side of the channel.

1068 BCE. The year Cordus, King of Athens dies. Interesting because he is also the last semi-mythical king of Greece, who made into the Greek mythic traditions.
1069 AD, the Ly Dynasty of Vietnam Attacks Champa (the people lived in what became South Vietnam).
1070 AD, the Temple Literature is built in Hanoi. A Confucian conceit, the temple can be seen on the back of the Vietnamese 100,000 Dong bill.

1074 AD Pope Gregory VII excommunicates the Norman nobleman Robert Guiscard. They will reconsolidate soon.

1075 AD Pope Gregory VII holds a council in the Lateran Palace at Rome. He publishes a decree against laymen investiture.
In the beginning, Christ's disciples were placing the bishops. After they have passed the election was done by the faithful of the region and later by the other bishops of the area. The Ecumenical Councils were degreed that the election was to be made by the other bishops of an area while never forbidding the election by the faithful. In western Europe, the Pope was selecting the bishops which became a problem as he became also a secular authority. Many monarchs (especially in the Holy Roman Empire) saw this as interference to their states. Thus the controversy.
