Jimmy Carr was not involved
Uggh. The most overrated man in comedy.

I also want to say Tinky Winky, because we recently had a Teletubbies subject, but I would say that is unambiguously a children's show (even though we all got stoned watching it in university).
That crossed my mind as well, but I don't think Teletubbies are really human.

First introduced in 2015 or earlier?

The problem I'm running into is that there are a lot of potential shows, and therefore characters, that could potentially fit, but not having seen the vast majority of them, I can't tell which characters would qualify as "silly" choices for this game.

Does the show this character was introduced in appear on this list?

No.

I don't think we're looking for a comedy show. I think we're looking for a show that is inadvertently funny (and silly) to Spartaculous. I was thinking of news or reality shows, but those don't have fictional characters.

Free hint: the show in which this character originally appeared was nominated (but did not win!) a BAFTA award in a category with the word "Comedy" in it.

Considered but rejected:
Mrs Brown (Mrs Brown's Boys) - won Best Scripted Comedy 2012 and def not kid's show.
Any of the Little Britain characters - before 2008
Ken Thompson (Cuckoo) - clearly not a kid's show.

I can't think of any that would be a "pass" on the children's show question.

I think it must be a character from a sketch comedy show (like Little Britain or Mitchell and Webb), and I don't know those well enough to pick one character from the dozens.

I think I'm stumped.

I suppose we might as well keep asking as long as we haven't been cut off

Did this show run for 5 or more seasons prior to this character being introduced?

Has this happened only once?

No, the character was introduced in the first season of the show in which he was introduced.

Yes, there was only one year in which it was nominated for that BAFTA award.

Okay, this has gone on for a while. My apologies - I went for an outside-the-box pick, and I guess it didn't really work.

Anyways, a couple of more comments:

- The show that this character originally appeared on was definitely not one oriented for children, but the question asking this didn't use "originally appeared" or "introduced".

A close examination of this page of the thread should help.

I'm guessing the clue is in the phrases "Guess now" and "Ask now". No idea what that means though.
