What are the downsides of the plan I proposed for the Town faction?

The downside is that it is no fun. And further discussion just lets you focus on mechs which is a nice camouflage for yourself and your team.

Okay, well as far as I can tell, folks like the hypo-claim plan, except for sweetandcool. And sweetandcool refuses to give us a game-related reason why they do not like the idea. So, I think we have some momentum on this plan.
