They could have, but they're not a factor in the info we have, which is that 9-11 Town-aligned players - out of a total of 11 - chose rose. Taking out pregame claimed gunners is a pretty good starting spot with that info. That's where we're at right now.
I think the choice of gun or rose is based predominantly on individual risk tolerances and predicted interactions with other players, and not
per se alignment indicative, but that info is quite damning.
The info you think you have is completely useless because it is being based off of pregame chatter which isn't even part of this actual game thread. if you were to make a case and explain it to another player, you would have to link them to the pregame thread and say, look here is where brainbomb claimed something he would do regardless of alignment.
What is interesting is you didn't ask yourself if I would change my mind, if I would actually do the right thing, or if this was all meant to just get brain to claim his item immediately at game start. Either way, this was poorly considered on your part and if you really plan to exile me day one for something I didn't actually say IN THIS THREAD, then we probably should look into whether there should even be a pregame phase at all.
And for the record I will not say if I lied in pregame about my intentions. I will also not say what item I chose. This is a wonderful setup where guess what.

I think they all decided that they wanted to kill me for pregame comments, and assume that id never lie or have a change of heart. And some probably just wanted me to post a fuckload so that nothing will ever be done differently on here and the community will just ward away new people by being total shitheads.
Or they just think I'm scum and there is zero consequences in their minds about losing the game rapidly

I feel like people want me to claim whether I do or not, and policy elimination will fall on me regardless of what I actually chose, regardless of what effort I put in today. That to me seems like a broken game.

I did not think that we would start the game by trying to force brainbomb to claim either, considering that is historically what everyone has disliked the absolute most about my play: ESPECIALLY Jamie. who absolutely abhors how much I cant resist claiming my roles, my items, and giving away all my info. he hates that. so what motive can he have here other than to do exactly the opposite of what he supposedly wants to do. Which leads me to assume his push on me is personal and for out of game reasons. His attempts to silence me, dismiss my ideas in other places, and in general this type of attitude towards me happens every game like clockwork.
I was just taken aback by the fact that pregame comments are being used to sort the game into a math problem rather than a actual hunt.

this seems to be a systemic flaw with the game of mafia that people who try to produce valid reasoning for why they are being victimized makes that person look scummy for fighting back. or scummy for trying. or scummy for being agitated. scummy for explaining themself.

That's a lot of roses. Not many guns in play means this will actually be a fairly vanilla game. Ghug will be delighted.

Due to game size, I reconsidered my pregame promise. I will not say what I chose.
But I was quite aware that me being a hero is a hell of a lot less important than me just doing the right thing. Doesnt mean I picked a rose, doesn't mean I picked a gun. Just means I certainly was aware that we could win this game without any kill power.

I'm gonna level with you, I didn't read the setup (imagine doing that lol!) and had no idea we were going to be given a range of Town-aligned people who were given roses. I am not sure if knowing that those people are Town-aligned is good for the game, but at the same time I imagine the expected number of roses was much lower.
