if eden is town, his goal is to kill scum - ignoring you doesn't further that (less information created) and pushing to kill you straight off doesn't further that either (odds are you're town, so that just reduces the margin of error on other kills). the logical thing for him to do as town is to engage you and try to determine your alignment - and since the goal of scum is to have the team last long enough to outnumber town, there's a strong case to be made for scum!eden also engaging you. however, there's a crucial difference in how town and scum would engage you - town wants to create and disseminate information in order to turn that into a kill on scum, but scum wants to avoid information getting out or being interpreted correctly. i have my thoughts on how eden has interacted with you, and other people do as well, but i'm going to hold off on saying it for a quick second just to ask you, which do you think more closely matches eden (or do neither?). how do other players fit into that?Rumi Tobari wrote: ↑Tue Aug 16, 2022 4:07 amI don't know? Maybe? I have no idea how socialization really works geneerally. I kind of imagine if he was town he'd just kind of ignore me. Or push to vote me off because I'm a liability?Bonatogether wrote: ↑Tue Aug 16, 2022 3:42 ami will say that you should never sit down or shut up in this game - it's way more fun to be wrong than to be quiet. i get that a lot of what other people are posting in a more serious way is not easy stuff to pick up off of as a new player (how people usually play, for example, is totally not there for you). however, if you were scum, what are your goals? how do you accomplish that? what does a constructive town player look like? even if you're wrong or off doing something that no one else understands, you add something by other people interacting with it.Rumi Tobari wrote: ↑Tue Aug 16, 2022 3:36 am
No idea. It feels like a ton of things I'm supposed to have opinions on I barely notice, but the things I do have opinions on are things I shouldn't. I don't know what to think anymore. Kinda lowkey feels like I should just sit down, shut up, and let the big kids do their thing because I'm out of place and don't really belong.
Was only suspicious of Eden because there was too much interest in engaging with me and feeling out my view that nobody else had done. I often assume if anyone is interested in me, my interests, my opinions, or just what I have to say, there's an ulterior motive
that's kinda rambly but just generally try and create information and use the fact that you know your role to extrapolate.
interesting re: eden. do you think if he was town, he wouldn't try and engage you in the same way?
you giving answers is the most crucial thing. being right or wrong isn't the important thing right now (only he and the mafia will know atm) - but you outlining a read and a thought process is the important aspect.
