I don't know. Maybe you thought it was a good way to convince Chaqa that you were town. You apparently did convince him, so it may have been a good way to do that.

Assuming you are talking about xorxes, I think I understood what he was saying, so I did not think he was contradicting himself.

I am not sure what you were misinterpreting, but I think all he was ever saying was that if Donny was scum then you are scum, and he thinks Donny was scum.

For me, this: "​There is one mafia faction, one town faction, and a 3P faction" would be a strange way to put it if the game started with more than one 3P faction. I guess pedantically you can say "there is a 3P faction" when there is actually more than one. I still don't think I'm being obtuse if I'm a bit uncomfortable with that.

It could also be that emc's role isn't meant to be it's own "faction" since his alignment (if he's being honest) is decided after the game starts but becomes one of mafia, town or 3p.

I don't think you're being obtuse, but I also don't think we're going to get anywhere with this.

When we got our Town roles, it clearly said we win when our faction wins. That means we try to eliminate BOTH Mafia and 3p, no matter how many factions that means in-game.

This is technically true. But if foodcoats had been watching the most recent games, he'd know that the scum have been winning by being uber-consistent and careful about not getting caught in any contradictions. So this advice is actually somewhat misleading. If you look for lies, you'll find them on townies; town should be hunting the players who are very carefully hiding their lies

I do not want chaos and disunity. I want opportunities for scum to leave tracks and make mistakes. Day 1 is important for that.

Someone looked this up last game (I think? recently, anyway) and pointed out that for a recent selection of games, the low-posting pool including a significant number of scum. I don't know about PRs.

Looking back, even through brains case there's a logical flow to what he's writing, he's questioning how the newer players are behaving which, to me, indicates that he's trying to build on what he has and go from there. I like it. Then we have his solid defense of himself.

Also as a nice side, he isn't giving in to OMGUS.

How fun

I agree with the fact that Brain seems town. I don't know why but he lost some points for me in D2 (gut feeling). But I get that what he probably was trying to do in D1 was to make me speak.

In xorxes' case, Chaqa would probably be scum, because otherwise he would have no reason to lie about you. But if Chaqa is scum, why his last night message? I think you inherited a scum role from Donny.

A bit of both. It started out as genuine confusion, and as he explained more (from my perspective) it read as if he kept on retconning his reasons or grasping for something without care for what it was. In hindsight it was probably a mixture of that and refinement. At some point I decided to take advantage of the situation and poke a bit more.

Hmm. I thought you seemed honestly confused/frustrated when you thought he was making logical fallacies, and townread you for it... Maybe I'll have to reevaluate that.
