Second, talk us through your immediate recollection of how people reacted to both (a) your Cop claim, and (b) your retraction?

I'm convinced this was a slip. Regardless of whether or not you were claiming to be the Cop, you came up with a scan list that was inconsistent with your previous role block claim (which now I am questioning). So, until I am convinced otherwise:
