##GM Note:

After consulting with the council, EMC and I have decided it is in the best interest of the game and fairness to all players to restart the game. This is our decision, though supported by Tom (as Dargo mostly recused himself due to his being in the game). To minimize impact, the game will restart with new role PMs and such at 6 PM EST tonight. There's a few reasons for this:

1. As some of you may know, I've been around since M1. I've been back for a few games, but I hadn't picked up on the new standard for not counting quoted votes. I don't necessarily think I made the wrong judgement, as previously (in the old forum days) we would often purposefully quote a vote to make a "hidden" vote, but this seems to have gone by the wayside. Had I been following the normal standard, Kitsune would not have been lynched, and I think it's unfair both to her and to other players to have adjudicated this way. In the reset, we will be using the current standard of not counting quoted votes.

2. A role madness setup is quite difficult to balance, and a few issues were brought to our attention that we would like the chance (and forgiveness) to fix, as we feel they would break the game and ruin the spirit of the game. We did try to plan for this, but some of our original ideas were lost in transition, so the following (mostly minor) changes will happen to the setup:
  • The Assassin was a role meant to specifically counter a massclaim, which would quite frankly be a bit game-breaking and unfun. In our original draft, he had a kill, which at some point was lost - you'll notice the role seems rather weak. To fix this, the Assassin will start the game with a gun, and will receive another shot whenever he successfully kills one of his targets. Additionally, the Assassin will receive knowledge of which roles are actually in the game.
  • The Hammerer's ability will be allowed to be triggered up to 12 hours after the final word is posted, to increase its utility a bit. The same rules still apply for posting all the words in order, but following posting "up," the Hammerer has a 12 hour window to actually end the day.
  • To increase the value of the Item Smith and Gunsmith a bit, the Item Smith will have his armor pack changed to a gun.
3. To clarify, the Mafia will be receiving fake claim roles. Third-Parties (besides the Assassin's knowledge setup) will not. However, it occurred to me that by giving the knowledge that the mafia team as a whole had four roles to claim, I had implicitly revealed there was not a Traitor in the first setup. To counter this, each mafia member will receive a single fake claim role in their role PM.

If anyone has any issues or questions, feel free to ask them here (except you, Jamie ;) ) and we will do our best to address them. We will be working on these changes and resetting the bot, and will have the game ready to restart from Day 1 at 6 PM EST tonight.

Btw I was a confirmable town in this game but in general I do not like mass claims as I think they are something of a game spoiler.

Yes, roles will be re-rolled, as will the actual roles in the game, in order to guarantee no system gaming.

Agree on both. It was a good call from GMs and I don't like massclaims, it just kill the game fun.

When Vecna sent us a PM about hoping there was a Magnet, we had an "oh, shit" moment about him potentially infecting ~10 people in one night, before I was like "that isn't how adjudication order works" :P

I was going to post (mid) game counter claim RDR's Conspiracy Charlie claim... and post (mid) game accuse him of being scum. But then Einstein posted the full random results.

Similar to how I petitioned for Vecna to be Gladiator so he could Caesar post, but EMC shot me down ;)

We also almost had a major oopsie, as I was looking at the wrong list and mixed up two role PMs. Luckily EMC hadn't sent them to the others yet so we ended up swapping, but basically xorx, Ezio, Flav, and Bozo (i think) all had their role PMs round robinned lol
