This game your teammates are probably are the Ice Brothers – Snowy Barlog and a Cool Barlog that tries to also be Sweet.

I have a better one now. I must be Mafia because I have been mis-spelling Balrog all this freaking time. Thanks Jamiet for pointing that out.

for justice in the world. (Don't worry SnowyBalrog, I'll probably come back to you before EOD after someone else who suspects you but doesn't wanna wagon-share with me does.)

Ladies & Gentlemen,
This here is a dedicated, stand-along post added for the sole purpose of expressing my immense gratitude to the one and only Bonatogether for his contributions in pointing out the errors of my LOTR referencing ways and helping guide me to an honorable sepukku.

Re: MAFIA 79: The Price is Right! [GAME THREAD]
That's fair enough, but if someone points something out (e.g. they claim you are contradicting yourself, you're baselessly pushing to kill someone, etc.) then you probably should at least spend a teensy bit of energy defending yourself.KoalaAttack wrote: ↑Fri Apr 07, 2023 7:04 pmHi sweetandcool, you keep coming back to the same point over multiple posts, so let me clarify my play-style for you in case it's helpful.sweetandcool wrote: ↑Fri Apr 07, 2023 6:20 pmMy fuel against Koala is that they seem to be doing exactly that against Bonatogether (in addition to other Koala behaviours). Bonatogether made a well thought out post and Koala just hand waved it away. They have not substantially made any argument as to why they are not Mafia. The fact that they pushed against me is irrelevant, especially since I have agreed with the base of their argument that newness should not be a shield against suspicion.
I will always practice what I preach and respond to any direct questions directed at me – if you (or Bona, or whomever) have something you'd like to ask me, please ask and I will promise to address to the best of my ability.
For a general case-making against myself though, nope I really don't care to defend. You will not see me spending time professing my innocence (really, you expected me to, after attempting to suicide D1?) ... I rather spend my precious time hunting real Mafias. It's like in sports, best teams have specialists – you need a striker and you need a goalie. When I play basketball I always defend and do it well, but I'm crap dribbler and a crap shot.
Here, I prefer to focus my time on going after suspects and generating content or discussion to put them through the ringer.
Now, I realize that may not be what you hope to see from me. But I read these very wise words somewhere recently...
sweetandcool wrote: ↑Fri Apr 07, 2023 6:50 pmNot everybody has to play town the way you think town should be played.
No defense, but replying with an offense will always read Mafia to me. You can play that way, just know that ignoring defense completely is a good way to earn my vote.

Because you already relied on this annoying tactic once (yes, you claim reasonable reasons for the first day, which I have no way to verify either way). Add to that the huge amount of suspicion I already had and I'm finding it unbearable to refrain from voting Koala.KoalaAttack wrote: ↑Fri Apr 07, 2023 7:27 pmVery cool!sweetandcool wrote: ↑Fri Apr 07, 2023 7:24 pmI am so triggered by Koala's self voting. @Dousing, I'm pretty sure I've been the most outspoken critic of Koala so far. But I'm also the 5th voter for Koala. Does this make me a bandwagoner or a champion?

Given that I literally told you to vote for me before there was a wagon on me, and you still didn't do it until now – certainly not a champion. Bandwagoner at best, snake-tongue getting others to get your MK for you at worst.sweetandcool wrote: ↑Fri Apr 07, 2023 7:31 pmBecause you already relied on this annoying tactic once (yes, you claim reasonable reasons for the first day, which I have no way to verify either way). Oh, those were just random examples. I really don't want to spend the time digging up my past anti-Koala moments, but I suppose not doing so will make me suspicious. I'll get back to with a list in a while, I guess.KoalaAttack wrote: ↑Fri Apr 07, 2023 7:31 pmFair enough – please be so kind to remind me which specific contradiction you are referring to here and I'll address it.sweetandcool wrote: ↑Fri Apr 07, 2023 7:26 pmThat's fair enough, but if someone points something out (e.g. they claim you are contradicting yourself, you're baselessly pushing to kill someone, etc.) then you probably should at least spend a teensy bit of energy defending yourself.

Yes, not doing it comes across as exactly the "generic-Shading-seeing-who-bites" that Dousing described. I'm looking forward to a real response when you get around to it. Argh, if you are a townie I don't know why you have to be so frustrating. Is there a moment D2 where you encouraged voting for yourself and I missed it? I think it's pretty obvious why I didn't join the wagon on D1. Namely, you were 2nd on my list after Fox.KoalaAttack wrote: ↑Fri Apr 07, 2023 7:32 pmGiven that I literally told you to vote for me before there was a wagon on me, and you still didn't do it until now – certainly not a champion. I am not sure I buy that Bonatogether did not read the setup until N1, but Bonatogether vs. KoalaAttack seems like it could be T vs. T.

To answer the Why – to put you through the ringer of the Inquisition / pressure in front of everyone and see how you react. So in case I end up getting MK-ed today, the Town will have more data-points of your behavior to evaluate you against with the newfound knowledge of "Koala flipped Town"
To answer the Moment – please refer here
KoalaAttack wrote: ↑Thu Apr 06, 2023 10:59 pmSo the real question is – do you have someone else whom you suspect relatively more than me? If yes, vote them. If no, you should vote me (if you ask me).sweetandcool wrote: ↑Thu Apr 06, 2023 10:46 pm\
I'm still not at the point of voting Koala, but they are high on my list currently.

Let me be so bold as to put forward a definition we can mutually agree on:sweetandcool wrote: ↑Fri Apr 07, 2023 7:01 pm
Go to the peterbot. I have literally staked the anti-Eden wagon.
to "stake" a wagon would imply ACTIVELY pushing arguments against someone to drum up votes against them. This also implies reinserting arguments against that same person into discussions if your arguments get buried under a mountain of shitposts.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I think that's a reasonable definition. So lets examine EVERY one of your contributions to the anti-Eden wagon and see if you've lived up to it.
Let's see...
...ah! Here's one instance!
...and that's the end of it I believe!sweetandcool wrote: ↑Fri Apr 07, 2023 2:16 pm
This is why President Eden is actually tied with Koala as my number one suspect. When I was suspecting Fox, they swooped in and encouraged that. Then, somewhere along the line, I swear they did the same thing with damo, but I can't find it. And now they are supporting a push for Chaqa.
Kind of seems like they are happily encouraging momentum against different people without actually providing much original thought. Nobody suspects them because people feel happy to be validated by them.
##VOTE President Eden
So you've put a small explainer text next to your vote against Eden and call that "staking" a wagon?
I'd disagree; you need to actually follow up that text if you wanna truly "stake" a wagon against someone. After all, I could argue I "staked" an anti-Jamie wagon because I voted for them earlier as a laugh.
This is exactly my point, thanks for the help!. Your attack on Foxcastle is the exception that actually proves the rule. It was only after you were confident you can hide in the midst of a bunch of townies that you decided to target foxcastle.sweetandcool wrote: ↑Fri Apr 07, 2023 7:01 pmrdr and sno may have started the anti-Fox wagon, but I was the only one who really committed to it with arguments.
Also you only "committed" to an anti-foxcastle wagon because Fox raised (justifiable) concerns about you. Doubtless, you would've just hid behind the townies had Fox not actively perused you (like a... fox... get it?)
***also GEE, when Foxcastle had "staked" a wagon against you, they actually--you know--PERUSED a line of inquiry!*** Did they simply go "I said my part, its up to the town to pick up the discussion from here"? Didn't think so...
Looking at Foxcastle's posts, I saw a genuine interest to get to the bottom of things. Looking at yours, I see lot of probing being done to feel whether anyone else picks up your argument. Two very different styles going on
Okay? That's because Fox was grilling you not because you heroically stood up to "stake" a wagon as you claim. That stuff kinda happens when suspicion is levied against yousweetandcool wrote: ↑Fri Apr 07, 2023 7:01 pmAnd my actions garnered several sweetandcool votes on day 1.
It's your incessant probing and probing and TL;DRsweetandcool wrote: ↑Fri Apr 07, 2023 7:01 pmWhat is this nonsense about me not sticking my neck out??
Your theories aren't organic and are overwhelmingly ephemeral; the only time you follow through on your probing accusations are when someone else takes charge.
