I see we're well into the shit-posting phase. Is it time we moved into the mindlessly-talking-about-game-mechanics-in-an-effort-to-break-the-game phase?

At least after looking things over it doesn't appear that the game is broken at the start (unlike the last one I participated in). So that's good. But I do have a serious question.

##CALL GM - You say when the 3rd party wins, the Neb flies off. To be clear, that just closes the QT and doesn't kill everyone in the Neb, correct? And just because the virus *can* kill someone each night, doesn't mean they *have to*, correct?

This is like the sixth time or so that I’ve played on a new site in the last year, if this goes as normal a chunk of the populace will scumread me cause I don’t play the “standard way,” I’ll get mildly annoyed, others will get mildly annoyed, either they’ll get annoyed enough to kill me or they’ll figure out my approach and everything will be cool

Bunny is incredibly earnest, although prone to tangents and occasionally gets stuck on things. He has a decent scum game and flew pretty much under the radar in a recent game where he won as scum. Not one I think of as being high risk for NK or targeting by other powers (town or scum).

The 3rd party then acts as a town-directed NK, under threat of the anti-virus going off. Maf will have to direct all their efforts at finding the third party. Since town doesn't lose when the third party wins - and they have to be lynched to win - why not co-opt them into an infinite, unkillable vig shot?

If we're strictly thinking about "win conditions" I don't see why town and 3P would fight each other. 3P cannot advance without town, and town has no reason to kill 3P (if they recruit, then 3P is another way the scum fail their NK and buy town and 3P both more time). In addition, 3P will want to draw the NK, which is to the town's benefit. 3P also does not want to accelerate the deaths (I don't think), because that's not to their wincon; they need time to achieve their goals.

Since 3P can act as a spy on the scum (potentially), and needs town, and has the possibility of mutual victory. I see little reason for town not to help them (and vice versa) at first.

(this is not the only answer, but it is the easiest one...and in webdip mafia playing easy and solid is usually the winning play)


The only part where their relationship will get rocky is at the end:

3P will need a mislynch right when town may not be able to afford it. This is yet another reason 3P should assist town; it makes it more likely town can afford the mislynch.


tldr; the easiest solid way to play to win conditions is to work together. Town should recruit 3P, and 3P should accept and assist town.

451 is planning a forum mafia tournament with cash prizes sometime TBA, likely next spring/summer I think? Possibly sooner I forget what the timeline for that is tbh
